Hi, I'm have a regular world and I also have Biomes O'Plenty in my mods. However when I started this last world that I've been playing on for a while, I forgot to start it using BOP world.
I'd back up your world first. Then I found this online:
Open your server folder and then open the server properties file.
There is an entry for "level-type" which will read "default"
Change that entry to BIOMESOP and save the file. Then start your server.
Just remember that any chunks you've already loaded won't be biomes o' plenty. Only newly loaded chunks will load with the new trees/plants/biomes/ores. Again, remember to back up your current world first before you switch over. Good luck!

That assumes that the OP is playing on a server, and they made no mention of multiplayer or servers so I'm assuming they are playing singleplayer with a modded client, in which case you have to use an editor like NBTExplorer to edit level.dat to change the world type (listed under "generatorName").
Also, in my experience server.properties has no effect on world generation settings after you've generated a world; when using Minecraft Land Generator, which uses the dedicated server to generate terrain, I use NBTExplorer to edit level.dat to change the seed and world type without touching server.properties and it has always used the settings in level.dat.

How can I change my current world to a BOP World?

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm playing Single player and modded mc.
I always back up my worlds every two days so no problems there.
I downloaded NBTExplorer and followed the instructions to change the default to Biomesop.
It worked. I'm not seeing any BOP in the world I'd already explored but that's no problem.
Thank you both.
By the way what does OP mean?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
thank you
But are BoP biomes generating in places you haven't explored?
