So i was playing a LAN game with my buddy this lunchtime at work on his relatively new world. He has a Nether Portal he'd been thru to get some NQ. Today, we decided to both go thru to look for a fortress (my first time thru portal). We both came out at his existing portal in the nether, we had a quick look, located a fortress then as it was close to end of lunch, we went back through the portal to the overworld. However, whilst he ended up back at his home portal, I ended up underground in a dungeon in a new portal. Didnt have anytime to do anything else. I assume i'm close to him (didnt check coordinates on F3). Regardless, anyone know what happened? Played LAN games with him before (sometimes his world, sometimes mine) but never had this happen.

Most likely you passed through a different side of the portal than he did. Your nether portal must have been located right on the edge of the range to link back up. I bet if you test stepping though each side you'll end up in each location.

Yes unless something deactivated the other portal after Buddy went through, that's really the only other thing that makes sense.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
OK, we'll try that tomorrow!

You think magic isn't real? Consider this: for every person, there is a sentence -- a series of words -- which has the power to destroy them.
