Since for the majority of my Minecrafting time I played Peaceful, it wasn't death by Creeper. I was going after diamond a bit too close to a lava pool and I fell in.
I'd made a dirt shelter into a hill on the first day with one-block windows on three sides. A few nights later, there were zombies, a skeleton and a creeper wandering around right outside and I just laughed at them because obviously they'd been outwitted. The creeper came up to a window so I started bashing it with my awesome stone sword and suddenly half of my shelter blew up. I thought my sword did it. After hurriedly fixing the shelter, I hid in a corner 'til daylight. The next night, another creeper came up to my window and I just went right up and looked at it (didn't want my sword to explode the house) so a couple of seconds later...
first death : first time i was playing minecraft and doesnt know how to collect block (thinking that i should press fastly left mouse button) so i was like "i think i need something to collect block" so then i try fast clicking all i found , i collected flower , mushroom , seed , at night mob spawned and i tryed to kill them then a skeleton shooted at me i killed him (heart left : 7) a zombie hit me then i hited him and he hitted me(heart left 3) then a skeleton hit me and i died (heart left 0 "YOU DIED" GAMER OVER "score &a"
My very first death was within 5 minutes of starting. Hadn't even learned the keys yet, I was only on a very small sandy island. I got into the water because I wanted to see beneath... And found I couldn't get back to the surface!
I was trying to make chest for the very first time. I did not know how to make it and my brain just wouldn't really think. I all of a sudden heard the magical: "SSSSssssssss......" sound.
Enough said.
I don't exactly remember but I know for sure it was from a mob...
Back when I started playing I thought coal was the hardest thing in the world to obtain and had no idea how to get it, so at night I dug a 2x1 hole into a hill and made one hole to look through and waited until day time.
Lol Noob!.... Yeah that's what i did too. j/k about the noob comment. I'm with yeah man. I didn't know anything about the game when i started waited 4 mine craft nights before i looked it up. Oddly enough i got creepered too but the boom opened up a hole and bounce me into lava. So technically I tried swimming in lava.
Long story short, I was playing and I was getting some dirt and stuff and I made a little dirt house and I didn't have a door cause I didn't know how to make on at the time and a skeleton came in and killed me.
I fell into a giant hole...and about 5 other times trying to get my items back. And my only deaths so far on my first world have been from fall damage.
Sounds very similer to my first death. except i fell into a ravine. Reason:trying to take a picture of my house to send to my friend. My friend has caused about 50% of my deaths in minecraft.
I began in mid-Beta (1.5) and ended up with awesome iron tools. I was deep in a cave, and found gold. I thought I needed to make a diamond pick to mine it, so went deeper. I than ran out of torches. I was like "OH NOEZ" and went up. I was hut from fall damage and that, so I noticed a pig on the ice. I went after him, and somehow though it'd be quicker to break the ice and go under. I stared to run out of breath, so went back to the hole, which had closed up. I then drowned, lost my stuff and dat. I respawned, went back after my stuff, drowned again, and then decided to gather up as much dirt as I can and write "S A D" just in front of my house, gather up sand and gunpowder, make TNT and blow it up. I then blew myself up too, and deleted the world which had me shitting my pants when I drowned in it.

I still have a mark where I facepalmed...
Was walking.
Didn't notice grass fault lines.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
