find a mod that makes them not climb blocks. There's a mod for everything so you should be able to find one if they are that annoying. I'd say just screw it though and just kill regular spiders.
Try making some kind of wall with half slabs using the new upside-down slabs. For example:

The 'Spiders cannot climb signs' trick has been patched, I just tried that recently and it didn't work. I have the same problem as you, I have a cave spider spawner and it is very frustrating. If you are on a multiplayer server, I think the best thing to do is to see if you can trade spawners with someone else and see if you can get a skeleton or zombie spawner.
