I just got outside my house to build a basement when a creeper came at me and blew. Another fell into the hole and blew the hole bigger, when a third creeper came, exploded, and opened the roof to a ravine, where I died in mid-fall when a skeleton sniped me. That is how I got my basement.
So here I was, completely minding my own business in the nether, when a random ghast appears, and starts shooting fire balls, I manage to hit back a few, and when I was running back to my house I accidentally ran through one of the many netherack fires, so I caught on fire, and in a last ditch effort to kill that stupid ghast, I turned around to shoot at it with my bow, and it was gone, so I slowly died from fire as I desperately tried to make it back to the overworld where I could deflame myself...

I had finally found a stronghold, but it was underwater. So, I made a column of cobblestone with ladders descending to the stronghold. I broke the ceiling, went inside, and saw that I was in the portal room, so I immediately built ladders to escape the stronghold before silverfish could attack me. Because you can skip one ladder by jumping, I didn't build one just above the ground. My brother went in, and I followed. However, as soon as I reached the bottom, I was suddenly enveloped by lava that wasn't there before! My brother had attacked a silverfish, and a block holding back the lava broke. The lava had reached the block under the ladder as soon as I fell there. If I had placed that bottom ladder or my brother hadn't attacked the silverfish, we wouldn't have "tried to swim in lava."
way back in beta, I had finished digging out my first mob farm and went running through killing all the torch's for it's first real try. got about 2/3rd's of the torch's out, then realized i should have started from the back so i could see my way to the access door. just then a skelly shot kocked me into the water troff, a couple of creepers jump down before i can get switched over to cobble and block the water, so i start fighting them, and boom zombies are punching me and arrows are flying in all over. - just then it hit's me,..... the lava blade that is, and boy did it hurt. - so I jump out, switch to my cobble stone and block the lava just in time to save a grumpy creeper's life and letting him get his explosion off - destroying us all.
Mining, when I found redstone, mined it then BOOM from behind when I thought I fell from lava then a spider saved me and pushed me on another branch of a cave, when suddenly it was filled with evil stuff which shot me to the lava =/
I had just built a wooden house, (i checked for lava pools and all that) and I was stripmining in it. When I came back-10-15 minutes later with like 10 diamonds my house was burning down and a creeper blew me up :U
One time, A creeper blew up, knocking me backwards. It's explosion revealed that the grass was one-two layers thick and opened into an abandoned mineshaft. I fell in, but caught a naturally occurring underground waterfall to save myself. Then, a skeleton shot me, leaving me with one heart. I fell out of the waterfall, but caught it again one block from the ground. As it turns out, a creeper was waiting for me at the bottom of the waterfall.
Just recently a creeper blew me off of a cliff. I was still alive and was going to definitely die from the fall to the ground. What makes this an epic death? A skeleton shot me half way before I hit the ground.
