I currently have all the top level enchantment books in my librarian storage room.
Except sharpness V.
I keep checking new librarians. They don't have sharp V. So I keep pushing the eject into lava button.
Our mall has every top-tier book available, all within a few emeralds of lowest price for the tier in question..... but at a cost: I've racked up 1600 villagers killed.
Other than for trading, making emerald blocks to build with or for beacons what do you use emerals for?
It's not just about the Emerald Blocks (at least not for me). I do large scale terraforming/construction; the kind where you spend 2 weeks just preparing the terrain for your build (including hollowing out the ground below). I wear down UNBIII EffV Silk touch diamond picks like nobody's business. I have one toolsmith that sells UNB III, Eff III, Silk touch, to which I just slap on an Eff V book, and I'm good to go. For repairs, I use emeralds to buy 2 'lessor' enchanted diamond picks at 13emeralds per, combine them on a crafting table and use that to repair..... no loose diamonds consumed.
If you burn the XP gained from trading, by combining books/repairs as soon as you have enough xp for each action, you can usually walk out with more xp than you walked in with. With our mall set-up, I can go in empty handed and zero xp, and walk out with a full dozen fresh picks (Unb III, Eff V, Silk Touch) in 30 minutes. Armor is a bit different, considering (in 1.8+) you can only buy chest plates in diamond. But you can usually buy and combine the books you need, and just take the book and item to your local xp grinder to do the final (most expensive) combines.
I have not tried it on normal survival, but you might try making name tags and putting them on the villagers.
