It does not matter if the trapdoors on the lava pit were open or not. While trapdoors do not "burn up", they can occasionally catch on fire, and since they are at the bottom of a block, a block at the top of that can appear to burn (possibly giving the appearance of burning stone above it). And fire from lava can spread occasionally through solid blocks some distance above and around lava. The wiki says "If flammable blocks are within 3 meters/blocks of lava, they will eventually catch on fire.", but I have seen a tree gradually and eventually burn up completely farther than that in an earlier version, from lava totally enclosed in glass blocks.
So don't put flammable blocks anywhere near lava (or flaming netherrack), even if separated by solid non-flammable blocks.
I have also seen a forest fire of undetermined origin on a server (possibly lightning, although, it was not raining at the time I discovered it) which left miscellaneous log blocks from tree trunks when it burned itself out.
I don't think difficulty level makes any difference for fire spread.
I was playing on survival mode, peaceful setting, returning to my house after digging and collecting stuff in caves. I open my door and I see this:
I’ve done some goo explanation to such damaggling and the closeste seems to be lightning. But, according to minecraft wiki whenever I’m playing one easy or peaceful lightning cant cause fires. I’m not sure how this happened, so please look at the rest of the pics and try and see if you understand what happened.
I'm not sure about this one, this seems like just a bad troll to me. I doubt it's any bugs, the only legit reasons that fall to my mind are:
a) Fire damage cause by something. Lightning, unprotected fir source etc.
He did the damage himself to gain attention, it's unlikely, but ya never know.

Well... looks like you won your bet, everyone let's pitch in about $10 for him... *takes out wallet and counts money*
