I have decided to open Bloom / DirtLand without having come to a previously determined milestone. The world has been gathering dust, with me only checking in every so often to lay a few blocks when I find the time in my busy schedule. I can't bring myself to pull the plug on all that is Lupine Village, Jaundice Sands, Fort DogWynd, and the marvelous HMS DogBreath.
So without further ado, I throw open the portal to this world. Explore and enjoy. Be inspired. Check out some of the locales featured in the previous entries. I ask that you play nice, respect what is there, and don't modify or build in biomes that are already built in. Otherwise go forth and be fruitful.
Hey, Dirt. While I am amazed you still have the server going, it would still be great if you could find anyone to help you with the plugins, but I suppose at this point that is as unlikely as ever. Anyway, sent you a message about the server I've been playing on for almost two years. You really should come pop in on it whenever you have the time.
The server address has changed, I have updated it in the previous post. It is also updated to the newest 1.14 version, but I am still in the process of deciding whether Bloom is in need of a reset to fully utilize all the latest and greatest fun things implemented in the newest update. There are definitely some gee-whiz cool things that would be cool in the world of Bloom, Lupine Village, Jaundice Sands, and at the grand Fort DogWynd.
I wouldn't say this server is for builders. The map is set to large biomes, which means the frequency in variety is extremely limited. The nearest jungle is 8000 blocks away, there are no Mega Taigas anywhere remotely nearby and if you want a Mushroom Island or Mesa, forget it, as those are 21k and 30k blocks away respectively. The owner intends the server to have Towny and some kind of RPG/adventuring/quest plugins, but the server is really only for him to tinker on with building. It should therefore be set as a whitelisted server and not open to the public or preferably he should have a private LAN server hosted on a secure machine in his own home. He's great at World Edit, but knows little to nothing about game commands, getting plugins set up and functioning correctly or indeed any game mechanics (redstone, villagers, etc., etc.), nor do I believe he is interested in any of those aspects, which of course is all his own prerogative as well. That is my honest review. Some schmuck, over and out.
You are completely entitled to your opinion, but I offer my rebuttal.
You were welcomed to play and utilize the server world while I currently revamp and construct a newly seeded world. Where things seem to have gone off the rails is you pitching a fit because I would not OP you or give you permanent Creative mode privileges. Furthermore what I do with this server is none of your business. You stated your suggestions, I listened, and made my decisions. I pay the bills, I get to do that. What you think I should do is really of no consequence to me now, nor anyone else who might like to play or simply look around. You don't like it? You don't have to come and play. It's that simple.
This server won't be for everyone. This is the beauty of Minecraft and the ability to customize servers. There are millions of combinations. So there is literally something for everyone. You were not asked to be a "builder", nor am I looking for any at this time; as this nor any of my posts are listed in the Server section opening it up for advertising to the general public. You've made an abundance of assumptions based on your interpretations and what seems to be impatience with how and what I choose to apply my time towards.
Uping your rant by trying to insult my ability to construct simple or complex redstone devices, interact with villagers or any other of the base game or multiple add-on commands is just getting silly. I didn't realize I was supposed to attempt to impress you. I am not in any hurry to get this server to any point, at any time. I build each layer at my leisure. I've left you in awe in every one of those categories on numerous occasions; on this server as well as previous ones. Now you want to stomp your feet and throw a tantrum because I won't fund your personal playground or bend to your demands upon threat of bad posts on a forum? That is your prerogative.
The only constant that seems to be present is your abrasiveness towards others. Hopefully someday you will learn how to play well with others, and accept the rules and direction set up by others for playing with their things.
So in closing, before you continue your lamenting of being banned from yet another server - you are not banned. You are still welcome to come play and look around, but you are well aware of the rules, what I eventually plan to do, and proper conduct I expect if I let you "piddle" around while I play / work. If that is something you cannot handle, you do not have to play.
Bloom continues to expand and flesh out within its blocky borders. The center of Bloom begins at the Approach of the Deities. From there roadways lead to DogWynd Castle, Lupine Plains, Lupine Village, Dismal Mire, and Far Reach Oasis. So I played around with some paint and map magic to present -
DogWynd Castle has snuggled into it's new home atop the snow-capped mountains overlooking the Lupine Plains. It retained much of its original wonders - the sky-dock with the HMS DogBreath idling away, ready for it's next flight. The balloon tower and dock, with the HMS DogBladder tethered, at the ready. The throne room, the shops, dungeon, and homes all now a slightly bit more cozy with the campfire addition from the latest update.
Now with the addition of Citizens and QuestMaker, DogWynd Castle now has a smattering of interesting citizens and royal attendants which offer quests, and more in the works that open up a bit of the history of Bloom once fired up.
Lupine Village is situated on the northeastern edge of the Lupine Plains and acts as the breadbasket and water port to DogWynd Castle. Its small collection of citizens boast some of the finest farmers, craftsmen, and smiths in Bloom. It is also home to Father Shooie and the Chapel of the Holy Egg, who claims to be descendant and sole remaining member of the Templar Knight of the Egg.
