The days have worn on, and yet we continue to slog away on repairing the HMS DogBreath. We have located the original name plate bearing its namesake and I have placed it within our cave. We have found a suitable cave to shelter us from the blizzards that plague the mountain peaks at this lofty elevation, but still we suffer from the biting cold. While the work still carries on, we have lost even more of our party members and have had to resort to eating SoilMutt. Dear pack donkey, your contribution will not have been in vain and we will always remember you.
I pray nightly to the chicken deities that we will see our task through, slay the evil emperor, free the citizens of Bloom County, and rightfully restore Chickenism to the lands. Now if I can only maintain my frail grasp on my sanity...
Hey, you're still alive! Nice sign in the cave there, lol. How's life? Busy I presume since this is your first post on the journal in over a month. Any progress or help on the server from anyone or any plans to update to 1.10, if you haven't already? I'm more or less retired from the survival economy server I started playing on, late last year. Mostly been playing Sky Factory 2.4 on AT Launcher and having a fun time with that.
We have managed to get the HMS DogBreath aloft. She is a touch unsteady, which I suppose is understandable after resting in pieces among the craggy peaks at this high elevation for untold years. After a slow climb and a few gentle maneuvers it is apparent that she handles like a rusted three wheeled mine cart as well, but I hope she is airworthy enough to get our ragged party to at least somewhere slightly more hospitable. Dusk comes swiftly and with sharp biting teeth up here among the summits, so we will retreat to the cave for tonight and prepare what meager provisions we have left for an early departure in the morning. I have instructed a few survivors to pray fervently tonight that the howling winds do not damage the DogBreath through the night and further delay our escape. Our fate now rests in the benevolent talons of the chicken deities.
Day ??? + 103 - Up, Up, Down, Down, Stone Button, Stone Button, Go
I don't believe any of us slept through the night. I spent most of it restlessly tossing and turning, arrising every few minutes to check on the DogBreath out in the icy winds.
As the sun crested the lowest peak, the winds died and a thick and icy fog rolled into the bowl between the apexes. This will make a departure most tricky, but we cannot afford to be trapped here a day longer. We must depart!
DirtDog is dead. No wonder he's been digging in the flowerbed for so long, must have been digging his own grave.

The important thing is not how long you live... It's what you accomplish with your life. While I live, I want to shine. I want to prove that I exist. If I could do something really important... That would definitely carry on into the future. My spirit will always live on. And so if I were to disappear... I think that all I have accomplished will go on. That would mean that it's living. Far from dead, but a new (additional) job and title, hunting for and buying a new house, and life in general has prevented me from sitting down at the keys and putting up the newest addition.
Thanks for the continued interest and keeping me on track. I need to get to a good point in this grand saga and open the server up, as I don't have much time to play on it and it's being paid for to just sit empty. I think there might be a few folks who'd be interested in seeing the HMS DogBreath, Lupine Village, Jaundice Sands, and Fort DogWynd firsthand as well as build within the nation of Bloom themselves to justify the continued operation.
The light is still on, even though it seems like no one is home.
Ay, that's fine, sorry if I sounded rude. I've abandoned Minecraft anyway because single player wasn't cutting it and have become an angsty FPS playing teen anyway. If you ever do open up I'd love to visit.

I'm totally willing to build, if Essentials can ever be successfully installed and I can have at least /god. I'm not really that interested in another survival server, or a vanilla server, no offense. Good luck with the new job title, responsibilities and the house hunting, etc. Whether you continue with Minecraft or not, I look forward to reading the rest of this second journal, until it comes to an end.

For all of you new folks, I hope you've read the original DirtDog as well, not just the Return.

We pressed on ever so slowly through the murky dawn mist. It seemed so thick and cold at times it chilled the entire meager crew to the bone. But we pushed through the enveloping haze as we had no other options. The mist clung to the ship for what seemed an eternity until the light faded. At first I thought the clouds were getting even thicker, blocking more and more of the radiant sun above. But when I inquired to our newly appointed boatswain at the the time, he informed me it was almost dusk. We had been plowing through this soup the entire day. With the ship engines running at a pitiful rate I have next to no idea how far we have traveled or what sort of head or tailwind we experienced during out escaping flight.
I have stationed crew members at strategic points along the rails to watch of obstructions and commanded them to take shifts in an attempt to get the crew some much needed rest, though I am not sure how much rest any of us will get flying blind in this mysterious fog.
Day ??? + 105 Sand on the Poop Deck
I was startled awake in the early hours of dawn by a sudden jarring of the ship and a sound that could only be described as raspy sandpaper grinding against the hull. When I sprung to the main deck I immediately noticed it was eerily empty. Along the starboard side, praise the benevolent chicken deities, there was a massive carved face of a chicken. Surely a good sign!
After some scrambling upon the deck, when gathered that we have lost the entire group that was supposed to have been on watch, and the engines are completely spent of fuel and in dire need of further repairs. While we have been plagued by death, disease, and ill luck, it seems the chicken deities have guided us and blessed us with a silver lining in this fiasco. The HMS DogBreath has come to rest in an arid region just outside of a desert settlement. And judging from the local architecture and statues, they seem familiar with Chickenism. I will gather a scouting party to make contact with this settlement, while the remaining members devise a plan to decide the feasibility of searching for the lost crew members.
Day ??? + 104 (continued) Friendly Sand Chicken Talons
We have met with the villagers and we are relieved to discover they are quite friendly and eager to provide hospitality to out party. The day has been a flurry of activity of securing the crippled ship, our limited supplies, and settling into our graciously provided abodes to rest and recuperate in.
I have been informed that the village leaders and elder have already requested a formal meeting with me as soon as we are settled. From what I have gathered, these generous villagers are followers of a strain of 7th Day Chickenism they call Roostafarism. This intrigues me greatly, as well as their impressive architecture.

DirtDog, have you been inside a Forest Mansion? They appear to have shrines to the High Birds in them.

No, not yet. Still waiting for the server to fully update so I can throw the switch on Spigot and run the latest version. I am looking forward to hunting down a mansion and checking them out. Hopefully I'll receive some divine inspiration while I'm exploring one.
Speak to me, oh great beaked one, shower me with your divine yolk of knowledge.
Ah, I see you've updated to 1.11. Well there's only one mansion per map and they don't always have the chicken statue room. Also they tend to be pretty far out on X and Z. Like over 10k on both. But not always.

Yes. We met once before on The Ballad of DirtDog. I remember your avatar.
Your accomplishment of the day.
