"Although man kind will always look onward, yearning for more, searching for new boundries, only to break through them, With the understanding that this world is one in which we all share, comes the responsibility of knowing the decisions we make today will have a lasting impact on the generations of tommorow." - Civ 5 BNW opening cinematic
After my very public presentation to the villagers I made it quite clear to those involved that I must fulfill my promise to my good friend and former cellmate, Wilbur, and see to it that I do everything within my power to aid him in his journey home. Thankfully there was no protest from anyone, only outpourings of pledgings to help.
From the village mine and smithy we were able to secure an adequate amount of obsidian to construct a portal to send Wilbur home to his people.
Day ??? - Planning to Plan a Plan
With Wilbur well on his way home to his home world and people, I can now focus on the task at hand, the task these people require of me. I have requested a meeting with the elders and high ranking citizens of the village in order to help identify our next step. This emperor and his oppressive grip over this land and its people must be loosened... I just need to figure out how.
With the gathering of the important members of the village and this long lineage of SVU, The first order of the meeting was ceremonious in nature. It was upon their insistence that they made the official proclamation of the return of the lineage of DirtDog, and the importance of my acceptance of the crown. I was greatly honored, but also reluctant to accept such a title and duty I still feel I am so vastly unqualified for. But alas, I will exercise my duties in this position to the best of my abilities.
I felt it prudent and necessary to establish a definitive division between what once was and what is now to be. While inquiring as to what the name of the village we were now located in was, they all seemed rather confused. It seems that the custom of naming villages, towns, and cities is a lost and strange cultural idea now. Therefore my first declaration was to name this town St. Lupine - a tribute to the canine origin of those who have come before us, and the saints whom guided them.
The second order of business was the acknowledgement of the fine work the SVU did in infiltrating the dungeons and rescuing me, as well as their dedication throughout the many years upholding the hope and vigilance for the return of the lineage of DirtDog. I then knighted those involved in my daring rescue and named them all High Eggsalted Knights; the highest rank in the Order of the Yolk Templars. I charged this newly reformed group with protecting not only the lineage of DirtDog, but also all those under the care of the lands of Bloom County.
With what I felt as two important pieces of business complete I then opened the floor to suggestions of how to mount a strategic offensive against the sizeable force surely commanded by the emperor. While numerous suggestions were presented, everything from constructing a giant egg and hiding fighters within, to using a giant spatula to flip large cauldrons of toxic concoctions into the castle and fortress proper, I felt most of these would be rather difficult to execute, or even risky for those involved.
One idea that did catch my ear was the mention of the possible location of my great great great great grandfathers fabled airship, the HMS DogBreath. According to some in attendance, the airship was rumored to have been lost in a long ago battle high in the mountains far to the west of St. Lupine. With an impressive airship, I think an aerial assault would be the most promising method of attacking the emperors stronghold.
I selected some able bodied citizens and Templars to accompany me in my search of this ancient relic airship. I hope it is truly real, and as grand as it was told to have been. We will strike out at first dawn to investigate and possibly reclaim this fine artifact.

I believe it took some damage when he and Peckingsworth took it for a joy ride and he put lava in the engines. He did, after that, go to the professor's home and get something to help find Peckingsworth.

Someone once said, in defense of a poorly thought out suggestion that was not being supported: "Theres so much awesome and rare things to add and youre just like, oh , thats too good, no, i want something common like a grass block"
I am still having trouble getting used to having so many people wanting to assist me, this appointed ruler thing will take some getting used to. Upon my announcement of setting out to search for the fabled and long lost airship of my ancestor, nearly every member in attendance claimed they were to accompany me. I managed to reason with at least a large number of them and convinced them they were noted for their bravery, but they were needed more so in St. Lupine to protect the townsfolk.
The remaining stubborn group I reluctantly allowed to join me on this perilous journey. I quickly packed what meager belongings I have - it's surprisingly easy to pack a pair of tattered underwear and pen this most recent entry - and met up with my group at the stables. They insisted I take at least one pack donkey with supplies, as there is no telling how long and how far we will end up traveling out there in the mountain ranges of Bloom County.
I selected a sturdy looking donkey whose nametag indicated was named SoilMutt. It sounded like an stalwart name, and loaded it down with equipment. I think the most prudent plan would be to set out on the river via the trade cog I spied down at the docks as far as we can manage and then set out by foot from there.
Hopefully this will end up being an uneventful excursion... but I have a strange feeling it will not be.
Ha! From another realm, my idea of Zombie Peckingsworth has become canon, yay! Sorry I haven't been on in a long while. Hopefully your adventure to the Dogbreath won't take you into the very unfinished realm of Swamp Castle. You should update the server to 1.9.2 if you can, as I am not able to get on it because of that. Anyway, glad to hear things are looking up for young Dirt, who has suddenly become St. Lupine's leader.

I hadn't even noticed that there was an update released already. So 1.9.2 is so much different that it won't run for .1 folks?
I'll try to remember to clean that up when I get home later this weekend.
Our excursion has started, and it has been pleasant enough. The great chicken in the sky has been most generous with the weather. The sun has been shinning, not a cloud in the sky, the river's current has been more than favorable, and no issues to speak of yet with our sturdy river vessel. We have spotted numerous species of cows, rabbits, boars, horses, and chickens drinking from the rivers edge as we ply the broad river-way.
This river proves more and more valuable with each passing moment. I can picture countless trading vessels plowing up and down this watery highway. Each heavily laden boat, piled high with countless commodities and trade goods, bound for the distance markets and cities. I must come up with a name for this impressive river. I shared my vision with my crew, and they all whole-heartedly agreed and became excited with my vision for Bloom County's future.
Day ??? +6 - Boing, A Refreshing Spring
Our sturdy ship continues to push its way down the swift river without a cough or hiccup. The growl of its engine has become rather soothing.
We have stopped for the day at a marvelous formation - a bountiful spring that seems to be roiling forth from the rock cliff along the river. It's cascading crystal waters feed directly into the river, and so far the water reportedly spills out fresh and crisp from the rock face. I have approved a suggestion that we stop here for the remainder of the day to restock our fresh water supplies and to send a small scouting party ashore to gather edibles, if possible.
Personally, I am looking forward to bathing in those cool, inviting waters. They look most refreshing.
Day ??? +10 - End of the River
The river has gradually become slower in its current, and wider in its banks - quite similar to me. I have continued to restrict our rations as I have no earthly clue as to how long this expedition will take. Even still, the rations are rather large compared to the meager scraps I was given within that ghastly dungeon. The crew also seems to be taking these reduced rations in stride, as I have not heard a discouraging word yet.
With the widening of the riverbanks and slowing of the current, we have come to what seems to be an immense swamp. We will continue plying aboard HMS SoggyDog as far as the swamps depth allows us to.
Day ??? +11 - Knee-Deep Muck
We've managed a whole day of slow going aboard the HMS SoggyDog before the swamp became too shallow to navigate any further. From here we will set out on foot. We have loaded SoilMutt, our sturdy pack donkey, with provisions and set off into the swamp. The muck is most sticky and nearly up to our waists, but we soldier on.
Good luck in the swamps. Again, hope you won't come across the very early stages of Swamp Castle, unless you rolled it all back. I see you've disabled mcmmo. Have you given up on getting Essentials to work?
I've yet to get Essentials to play nicely with the server at all. When I figure I'm closer to throwing the switch to go live and opening the server to the general public, I'll worry about Essentials functionality. It's the only add-on that doesn't work properly right now.
Right now it's only us chickens in the world, and I don't usually go anywhere other than St. Lupine and the general vicinity.

We continue or daily trudge though the mire that is this infernal swamp. The progress is painfully slow, everything is soggy, soaked, and wetted with this putrid smelling swamp water. At the end of each day we are not even able to warm our spirits next to a fire as there is often no wood. When there is wood, it is too wet to properly burn, as we learned after our first attempt at igniting some rotted timber we found. The smoke was thick and noxious and we had to quickly douse the fire and resign ourselves to sitting huddled and shivering in the damp cold air for the night, yet again.
Other than that, spirits remain mostly high...
Day ??? +18 - Attack of the Swamp Bunnies
Our travels continue to press through the mire, but we came across what appeared to be sweet and docile bunnies. I cautioned my companions not to assume the temperament of any creatures we came across, but my words went unheeded. Two of the members attempted to approach and pet the cute little creatures, but as soon as they were within striking distance the small rodents lunged straight for their exposed fleshy necks. The varmints ravaged the two members with such ferocity and vigor, they were reduced to mere bones before we were able to mount an attack to repulse the bunnies and rescue the two victims.
I am forced to make a difficult decision as to not provide the proper burials and final rites to the two, as the bunnies will not leave the area and have now begun feasting on even their bones. The sounds of those monsters cracking and gnawing upon bones is quite possibly the most haunting sound I have heard so far in my life.
Day ??? +20 - Reprieve
We have finally come to what I hope is the end of this diabolical swamp. The stench in the air seems to have thinned, but the humidity has only increased. I think I can bear the oppressive humidity if we are rid of that rotting, fetid smell of that swamp. We have stopped to rest at what appears to be another source of water feeding this swamp - a small waterfall pouring forth from a jungle ahead. Though warm, the clean water is a welcome relief from the smelly and undrinkable waters of the swamp.
Sorry to hear about your dead fellows, perhaps the Chicken deities shall provide you with safeguards against those evil bunnies in the future. The jungle looks very inviting. You should update to 1.9.4, another server I play on just made it so that you can connect with any version of 1.9, so there's no more swapping. Not sure how that's accomplished, but hopefully you can find out.

Someone once said, in defense of a poorly thought out suggestion that was not being supported: "Theres so much awesome and rare things to add and youre just like, oh , thats too good, no, i want something common like a grass block"
Our travels continued as we inched our way through the thick growth of the humid jungles. After days of hacking and slashing through dense undergrowth, the trees began to thin and become smaller in stature. As we journeyed on even further, the plant life began to become more sparse and withered, and the air became less damp.
We have come to the edge of an arid desert. Sand as far as the eye can see.
Day ??? + 47 - Withered
We has lost more of our party during this seemingly impossible trek across this endless desert. Thirst and fatigue plagues us, but we have come too far to abandon our search. Furthermore we are much too far into this desert, as we'd surely perish attempting to recross the miles we have already covered. Our only hope is there is an end to this sand or an oasis at least.
Day ??? + 53 - A Higher Calling
The elevation seemed to be rising, and I had confirmed with some of the remaining members that the air appeared to be cooling. Today further confirmed it as we are starting to see plants and vegetation again.
Day ??? + 54 - Upwards and Onward
Yesterdays assessment has shown to be of sound logic. We have encountered the start of what seems to be a mountainous range with a cold and crisp snow-melt stream pouring from the higher elevation. We all drank our fill of the cool waters until we lay bloated and cramped on the warm gorund. We will refill our water supplies and continue after we have regained our strength.
Day ??? + 67 - Success!
These mountains have proven treacherous and full of peril, but I am ecstatic to report I believe we have found the remains of my ancestors magnificent airship, the HMS DogBreath!
I cannot remember how many peaks we crested, only to be faced with yet another icy valley to cross. But today as we reached another pinnacle we were greeted by a ghost of epic proportions. The airship seems spectacularly preserved in the frigid temperatures and nestled in the craggy apexes of this mountainous terrain.
A quick inspection of the hull has given us the assumption that the airship is in rather good condition for being broken into three sections and lost for centuries. Hopefully we will be able to salvage it back into flying condition within a short time and with the limited supplies and resources we have access to up here at this high elevation.
To be fair there was Easter for about a week. Dunno if he's religious or not though. Also I think the passover for Jewish people was recently.
