im thinking of getting back into legit minecraft playing.
one problem though: i can only run on tiny render distance to get a good FPS.
dont say Gamebooster or Optifine cause i already know about them.
just wanna see if there is anything else.
-----------------------------------------------
ALSO:
im looking for some good mods to improve my minecraft experience.
any mod suggestions?
EDIT: thanks for all the tips.
I hope i do get a ram upgrade soon.
but lets just nvm that part and tell me some good mods.
Sorry. If you can't get it to run well on tiny render distance with mods like optifine... your only option is a newer computer.
A lot of people think because minecraft is 'ugly' or has 'bad graphics' it's not demanding on your system, but this cannot be further from the truth. Optifine helps fix a lot of MC's problems with rendering, but it's still not exactly optimized. Hopefully, little by little, we'll get a more stable game.
Fast quality, MAX FPS setting, minimal particles. That's all I can really tell you.

So sing a lonely song/Of a deep blue dream/Seven horses seem to be on the mark/Yeah, don't you love her/Don't you love her as she's walkin' out the door.
Most game changing mods won't help reducing your lag. But if you insist, then use ComputerCraft.
well my computer can run just fine on tiny renderdistance, i just wanted to know if i could improve that.
also about the mod, no not for me. i dont do coding or lua.
Go to Control panel then Programs hen Java the go to Java tab then click view you should have Java 1.7.Then under Run time parameters put -Xincgc -Xmx(amount of ram you want to allocate)M then press ok then press apply then press ok
Divide your total ram by the total ram in a calculator then multiply it by how many gigs of ram you wanna allocate
It's always great to play legitimately! Remember, it's how you achieve that counts, not the actual achieving. You'll be much more satisfied with your creations when you play legitimately.
Ok guys, sometimes people have something called 'finance issues'. You know, where they don't have a high paying job, or parents who will buy them everything. I currently play on either short or tiny, and want to upgrade, and am struggling to find the money.
However, you can get along fine on tiny... I generally do. It just makes exploring difficult. If you play underground, then tiny is great, as generally you dont have a big view range anyway. Out in the open, well, I go far to see surroundings, then back to tiny and run.

Yeah.
Well, im gonna start soon, right after i get some more awsome mods.
(currently i have the RC mod and My people mod).
Pick up the texture pack good morning craft :biggrin.gif:
Other than that, can anyone explain to me how to get optifine? I have to play on short view distance.. and well.. Don't know anything of these mods that you speak of. I do just fine on short with all of the options turned down and the texture pack good morning craft, but if I could manage normal with some mods that would be pretty awesome.
My computer, while it is newer and has an intel i3 core, it is also sadly using an integrated intel graphics card.. which just cannot handle much of anything :'(

Well, there are a ton of mods out there, so what kind are you looking to get into?
I love to play with industry-type mods, so these are the ones I recommend:
1. IndustrialCraft 2
-Great industry mod (who knew?), lots of amazing high-tech type things. Solar power, quantum suits, mining drills!
2. Buildcraft
-Tired of doing things manually? Why not use pipes, quarries, and auto crafting tables to do your work?
3. RedPower
-Redstone your thing? This mod is for you. It simplifies the gates and wiring, making it easier to make devices compacted and advanced.
4. RailCraft
-I recently started to use this, and I love it! Minecarts are amazing in vanilla, and this mod takes it to the next level. Speed rails, loaders/unloaders, and even rails that go up walls!
5. Xies Farming Mod
-Bored of wheat, melons, and pumpkins? This mod at LOADS of new food items, along with great ways to use them. Fruit trees, corn, and of course sandwiches!
6. Equivalent Exchange
-Alchemy. Changing diamonds into things that are better and more powerful than anything you have seen before. A great add-on to any mod collection.
7. MineChem
-Mystical alchemy not your thing? Do it for real! Split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Use them to make more compounds!
8. FiniteLiquids
-I don't recommend this for any computer that runs vanilla Minecraft slowly. Liquids are no longer infinite, they will get used up! Even water! Adds some realism to Minecraft (because that's what Minecraft is all about right?)
Hope this list helped. There are tons more good mods out there that I didn't include on this list, but these are my favorites.
Side question: How are you going to run these mods if your computer can't handle regular Minecraft that well?
I was more referring to mods that make the game run smoother with graphics, not alter gameplay lol. I know two were mentioned at the beginning of this thread, I just don't know how to install them or how to go about the whole thing.

Well I actually wasn't replying directly do you, but I can give you a few tips:
-If you can, get a better graphics card, for obvious reasons
-Optifine, which I think you know about
-FPS++

ZOMG
all but minechem and railcraft ive tried before 0_0
and also It CAN handle it just fine on tiny i just wanted to see if i could get it too run on small.
Whoops my bad. I thought on laptops it wasn't really possible to get a better graphics card because of the confined space, which is why the manufacturer used an integrated one?
