Heard Minecraft a lot but never bothered. The first time I saw a screenshot is actually in an article about a guy who uses Kinect to build a giant statue of himself. And I thought "Ok... so it's a game where you build statues... :huh.gif:"

Perfect - that's what I'm striving to be. -- Sagisu Shiro. Armageddon, performed by M.A.L.I.
My little brother found it before the current version of Classic, and I got hooked. Later, we discovered the YouTube Minecraft videos, specifically Seananners, and his series got us. I personally never cared about the graphics.
PS Why is Minecraft not in the dictionary of this website? That makes little sense.
First time I saw Minecraft, was because my friend kept on telling me that it was a really good game so I checked out a few videos on YouTube (MisterFantasmo and Seananners) and thought that it was a very gay game it all being in pixels and that but I kept on watching the videos and after a few months wanted to start playing it. For a while I was just using a single-player version that you don't have to have an account to play on. Then for my birthday my friend bought me an account, and since then I have not stopped playing. Now I love it.
Thank you guys sooooooo much for replying me 58 times! Thanks! I took almost an hour to read all your opinions! Thanks again. I hope this post will also help new player to get introduced to Minecraft and also post their first expressions in the future.

I was sort of confused. I was on youtube and I checked out someone's uploads and saw a video of them making a house. Then a creeper came and they were talking about how they don't blow up things if they are in the water. Then I found SeaNanners Let's Play, fell in love(with Minecraft, not Nanners!).
I was reading a story on the news about a teenage boy in california who almost died playing minecraft. He and his friends were digging tunnels in the sand (NEVER do this!!!!) at the beach, some of them 6 feet deep, when one of them collapsed on him. He was very lucky to survive. I had followed the link to minecraft. Like someone else on here had posted, I am from a time when there were no video games, so playability is much more interesting to me than graphics. I wandered around for a while checking out "the island". I realy didn't know what to do so I climbed the highest hill I found to take a look around. When at the top I tought I might dump the bucket of water to see if physics (gravity) worked. Immagine my surprize when in a quick few seconds I found myself standing on a block in the middle of an endless sea!!
I bought the damn game anyway!!
