In my day, I hunted zombies for arrows instead of skeletons.

Back in beta we had no food bar.

Back in my day, leather armor protected the same as diamond armor, a diamond sword killed a hostile mob in 2 hits, animals could respawn on grass, and gold swords... well, they were still completely useless.

Back in my day we used porkchops to bandage the arrow holes the fearsome bow-less skeletons made in us. Then we'd have to cross some of the most treacherous terrain during the most brutal ice age that has ever existed. We stifled past ledges with none of this newfangled crouching nonsense, all in the dark too as beds weren't invented yet. Constantly fearing for our lives because caves were much more frightening than they are nowadays and minerals seemed more scarce. I'd go for days without any way to light my path unlike you youngsters and yer jack'o lanterns and glowstone. Hell once I got desperate enough I tried lighting my dirt hole with mushrooms. Yep those were the days...

Back in my day, minecraft content didn't depend so much on memes and culture reference. oh, and no dyes!

Back in my day, the bow was rapid fire, and arrows were very easy to get. War was like war, bows were like guns, arrows were like ammo, and we had a great time! I slaughtered about 6400 diamond warriors with just my trusty bow, and about 90,000 creepers... but then I took an arrow to the knee... *cough cough*

BAck in my day we actually played the game 24/7 trying to find the secret updates, stubling on redstone(which was a ***** to mine) and spiderjockeys, INSTEAD of trolling the minecraft forums.

In my day...we didn't go out at night for fear of the Creeper!

Back in my day, no sissy just burned wood for torches, we had to find SURFACE COAL like REAL MEN! And we weren't found sleeping through the night on your comfy-wumfy beds! No! we hid in our houses terrified like REAL MEN!

Back in my day sugar cane and clay would take endless hours to find and minecraft was heaps more realistic and wasn't overdone by. I joined in Beta 1.1

Maybe i didn't make this clear, this thread was supposed to be about what you loved and adored in the old alpha and beta not how much it sucks now

Back in my days, we didn't create hipster threads bragging about how we played Minecraft before other people and complain on how the game has actually gotten better over the months/years.
