I bumped into this by falling in a hole in the ground.
when I looked up and looked around, I was fighting for my life.
Spiders every where....
I was in a spider hive. It goes 12 levels from bedrock on up.
Its a seriously huge maze, you will get lost really fast.
I have tons of pics. - This is cool :smile.gif:
By the way, I found 52 diamonds in here.
After 2 weeks of non finding any diamonds,
I fall in here and got 52 of them.
I also found a crap ton of Uranium Ore and Gold and other stuff.
Found 2 chests, but they only had 2 pieces of bread and 1 ingot of iron.
(Cheaps-cake) risked my life for 2 pieces of bread and 1 iron ingot.
Damn you minecraft...lol
Mine shafts are a lot of fun and great for resources! Ive taken a friend's method for exploring them and modified it a bit to taste. I recommend it for maximum profit and minimum effort.
My abandoned mineshaft exploring kit and method:
At least 40 torches
Iron sword
Iron Pick
Iron Axe
At least 20 food
Shears
A bucket
Optional:
A bed
A stack of cobble
Armor
Bow and arrows
I explore from right to left, down then up. When I fully explore a branch and harvest everything I block it off with cobble. Torches go on the right hand side going deeper. Axe is for wood planks on the 'supports' and shears are for any cobwebs. Wherever you enter the mineshaft system I recommend building a small forward operating base with a door, crafting bench, chest and furnace. Bed optional.
By the time you have used up your first pick, axe, shears, sword, etc... if you don't have enough iron, coal and wood to make 3 of each you are either unlucky or doing it wrong. They are also a great source for cheap and easy mine cart track.
Also, I can't help but wonder at your phrase 'Cheaps-cake'. From context I think you meant the Americanism 'cheap-skate' meaning miserly or stingy. The term 'skate' is a mid 1800's american slang term for a lame horse.
My problem is that the mineshaft I found is in the middle of a ravine or something and so stuff's everywhere and the spidey spawns are in the middle of the huge gash. And I hear plooshing sounds on the bottom, but there's no water there.... I'm scared...
Please, oh please give us the seed and the coordinates of this hole you found that leads us into Minecraftia's richest mineshaft in all of history...
Thank you...
EDIT: Oh, nvm... Just saw you have Industrialcraft and have an OV scanner... With that I could find hundreds of diamonds just digging down into bedrock from any random spot...

Has anyone else gone through this ??
It's an abandoned mineshaft. They are very large and it is easy to get lost. If you are lucky you might find a chest with some melon seeds inside...
A few tips I use to not get lost...
Torches always on the left wall. then go back keeping them on your right.
If you find a corridor that results in a double back, seal it off to prevent running in circles.
Leave a breadcrumb trail with something uncommon. (Sand works well)
Happy exploring! :laugh.gif:
Ya I always put torches on the right, so when I leave, the torches are on my left.
same concept.. :smile.gif:
the place is huge ya..
and I only found 2 chests, both had bread crumbs.
wish they had 1 melon seed. that would of been nice. :smile.gif:
Im building a quary as we speak, with the diamonds I found.
im so happy about that. :laugh.gif:
Soartex Fanver - is the Texture Pack
Also, I have 2 regular green melons (not pumkins)
but actual green melons.
How can I get seeds out of them ??
.
found them in a cave.
Its in my chest and not at the cave or cave side, so cant take any pictures.
its a melon. its square and green.
it was near a cave or at a cave.
I dont remember, it was at the begining of when i started my world.
It sat next to the pumkins but in some kind of mountain cave on the side of the wall.
So what.
Its my first mineshaft. geez dude relax......
Problem solved.
