Got all excited for Skyrim, got it pre-ordered for me on my birthday so when it was released I started playing right away. Up until then Minecraft was my main game to play whenever I had free time. Thing is with the latest patch to Skyrim as some of you may know, has caused quite a few problems. Not to mention bugs in general that I put up with that have simply become a huge annoyance.

Anyway I started up Minecraft earlier and noticed there was an update. Yes I've read the notes on what was included and such but I'm hoping for something a little more in depth.

Can anyone help me out here?

I've been building on my current map for quite some time. Do I have to restart anything to get the new features? Will they be implemented automatically?

What's the enchanting and potions do exactly?

you can repair two broken tools/armor together of the same material, that will have their combined durabilities plus a little extra, by crafting them together.
There is enchanting accessed by an enchanting table



And there is alchemy, for which you should look at the wiki
you may have to regen to go to the end, and get blaze rods and nether wart to begin enchanting, but otherwise, no

Isn't it a book not a bookshelf? Or do both work?

Is there any way to get all the features in my current game? Again my save is from 1.8 Beta.

I spent a lot of time on my land and really don't want to lose it all. =[

Probably easier to generate a new map using the same seed and use MCedit to import your builds into the new map. Although 1.8 did have strongholds, I think their generation was tweeked a bit and I'm not sure if a 1.8 generated ender portal will still work or if it was even complete.

Keep in mind that terrain generation did change a little bit, so you may find some small or even considerable changes to your seed.

also you can now grow huge mushrooms yourself because the mushroom biome (where huge mushrooms grow) is rare.to grow it use a bonemeal on a mushroom regular brown or the red one but the light must be dim.

also now there are now magma cubes in the nether so watch out.


and you can breed animals inside a fenced area to get many _______. for example,to get many pigs then dont kill 2 and breed again.
