Thank you! The last time I paid any attention to my graphics settings was like...months ago, and for some reasons Optifine actually turned VBOs off. I hadn't noticed that until I read your comment
Thanks again for the help, my farm finally seems to work now
If you read that bug report turning on VBO's is more of a workaround. I really recommend you update your graphics drivers to the ones suggested if you have an AMD card. If you don't have an AMD card I think there is another similar report that has outdated NVidia drivers listed as causing graphic issues and there was updated drivers listed there.
2016 started off really slowly for me in terms of playing Minecraft. Lately my family has had a few problems, some of which are still not quite solved, and that did affect studies at school, so I was never in the mood for playing games in general, and definitely not a game that requires hard work and thinking like Minecraft. I just couldn't find the inspiration, you know.
Anyways guys, I'm just posting this to let you know that, first, I'm not abandoning you guys, and second, I'll be continuing the journal once things get easier for me. I'm sincerely sorry for this long break, I'm going to go back to writing the journal as soon as possible . And also, I have made a download for the journal world, if you'd like to revise all the things we have done in this world, definitely download it!

Hey real life is more important than a game, so focus on those and we look forward to hearing from you as you have opportunity. Thanks for sharing your hard work and building style in Minecraft with us here. It's inspiring to me.
Thank you for the world download! I love being able to explore people's world!Don't worry, I took a long break from my own journal not too long ago. Do you mind sharing what you are studying in school?

Thank you guys :)) I'm very glad to hear that you are still enjoying this journal despite the long break. The situation is getting better so I'll probably go back to playing Minecraft next week
In reply to Fyqcraft's question, I am currently in grade 9, the senior grade of middle school in Vietnam. Our standard curriculum includes 13 subjects: Maths, Literature, foreign language of choice (English most of the time), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Arts, Music, Civic Education, Physical Education, History, Computer Science, Geography. Grade 9 is extremely important because at the end of it, students will take a graduation test and an entrance examination, which will decide which high school they get to study in. Students choose their desired high school, and if the scores of their extrance tests meet or exceed the school's demand, they get selected into it. The entrance examination usually takes place in early June. I am currently preparing for another important examination - the examination for 'gifted' students, which is on March 23rd. The examination is held on a city scale, and is attended by, as its name suggests, 'gifted' students who managed to pass the elimination test in their districts. Each student chooses his or her 'gifted' subject, and sure enough, my 'gifted' subject is English.

This.. this is why the other countries are smarter than us. ("us" being the United States).
In middle school I remember having 4 main subjects: Math, History, Biology, and English (Literature, not the language), there was a couple others like Physical Education, Health, Art, but they weren't part of any overall curriculum, just electives to take on the side for personal interest and to waste time.
Getting into high school didn't require any special testing, only that you passed middle school and you lived within the school's district. I was in one of the best rated high schools in my area and after reading what you said, it seems like your middle school's curriculum was more difficult than my high school's curriculum lol.

Yeah, we really need to ditch the Prussian model in our school system. It is horribly outdated, and was intended to give unskilled laborers a basic understanding of reading, writing and mathematics. Not to mention it destroys creativity and individualism - something we really need in today's society.
Hi guys, it's duythemcer! It's been a long while since I last accessed this forum and apparently I have lost my old account.
As you know, the Minecraft Forum will transition to being read-only on June 16th, so I thought I'd take some time to write a few lines to everyone who has read my journal.
duythemcer's SSP Journal was started on the summer of my senior year in middle school, which was towards the end, but also the peak of my Minecraft career. It was when I was the closest to being able to master the game and its various aspects, from building to redstone and anything in between. Minecraft was more enjoyable for me back then than it has ever been, and being able to share my moments of fun with such a friendly community made it all the more memorable. Sadly, as high school approached, I eventually ran out of time to dedicate to Minecraft, and soon came an abrupt end to the journal. Yet, the memories still stuck. Everything from day one of mining coal and iron to day 10 of fighting the Ender Dragon to day 20 of moving base and building the Castle Mountain could never leave my mind.
Thus, I would like to thank everyone who has read or, even better, commented on the journal thread. Special thanks to Fyqcraft, rodabon, and Afra2010 for following me through to part 2 (though it ended pretty quickly ). Thank you Zabarion for inviting me to play on your server (I'm really sorry I left without a notice ). Thank you everyone who has worked behind the scenes managing and powering the Minecraft Forum, this place has been a big part of my childhood and I'm thankful that those memories will be sealed away in good hands.
It's been a wonderful time up here, I remember first browsing this website at 12 when my English wasn't even good enough to understand some of the posts (I'm Vietnamese!) and now here I am about to go to college. I will still be revisiting Minecraft and the read-only forum every once in a while, but now when it is still active, goodbye for the last time
That was a fun read! I loved the format, it's like a friend sent me their travel journal, lol! My only critique is to keep logging your journey and inspiring others to make entertaining records as well.
