Hi everyone i just got back to minecraft survival mode 2 weeks ago and generated this new world using a random seed. I havent been playing for a while and this time i decide to make a journal of my world. This is my first ever journal so every comments on how to make my journal a little bit better would be appreciated.
Day 1: Village and coal
OK.This is the beginning, some good loots from the bonus chest
I wandered around a heard some villager noises and guess what, i found a village! I took 42 books from the librarians' bookshelves, those would come in handy when i need enchanting
I stopped playing survival back in 1.7.10, and this is the first time i see these cute creatures in my own world
While caving i found this branch that looked quite cool, and so i decided to settle down in this ''cave base''
The cave offered me a load of coal, more than i have a ever gotten on my first day in survival mode
Day 2: The Skeleton farm!
I found a branch of the cave that i hadnt explored yet, and in there was a skeleton spawner
Been working on the farm for a while, the design is pretty basic, just water pushing them to a 18 blocks fall
Spent some time grinding and got to level 34, ready for my first two enchantments now.
Day 3: Mining and base interior
Ok, finally i am mining, i dont know about you, but i hate mining. I think it is so tedious to just break a ton of blocks, but mining did offer me this much resources so even though i hate mining, i still do it a lot.
After all that mining i decided that i need would like to do something else now, and so i started to decorate the ''cave base''
Here is the entrance , there is a swamp nearby so vines are not a problem for me
The inside, which include an enchanting room, a storage room and a smelting and crafting corner
More updates to come everyone. If you have any ideas on what i should build next please tell me, i have a bunch of them now but i still want to hear from you guys
Well, you've got a nice start there. Definitely better than most of my starts, that village is really a plus.
I do have a suggestion though, Most journals I've seen died in a few days due to the lack of interest. You might want to make something really different in this journal. Set yourself a goal and work for that. A few axamples would be; Turning that village to a city, building self sufficiant bases in every biome or the nether, settling to The End after killing the dragon, stuff like that.
The goals though, should be things that you do like doing. For example, you said you don't like mining, so, don't focus on that. What do you like? building? Caring for villagers? fighting?
I, for example, never made a journal, but I do use the same method on my worlds. My current goal is to fix a village that has spawned on the top of a mauntain and turn it to a huge city. It keeps me motivated and gives me consistancy. And you could use that in a journal.
Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to be mean but it's hard to express that by just writing. Good luck with your journal. I'll be waiting the next episodes.
Its time for another update guys, here is day 4 and 5 in my world, hope you guys enjoy it. As always please tell me if you have any suggestions, and i would love to hear
Day 4: Villager breeding
Its that time again, when my need for tons of iron rises, and if there is anything i want to build now it is the iron titan
Lots of villagers are needed for the build so i am starting to transfer some villagers from the village to my base to make a breeder. My method is quite odd, i use water to push them, and then retrieve the water, then release water to push them again, all the way from the village back to my base in a small tunnel
I decided to use impluseSV's design cause its survival-friendly and here we got our first baby!!!
Day 5: Base renovation
Aww... it spent 5 real-life days on this world already, and i am a bit bored of the cave base now. I always like straight hallways and symmetrical rooms, but i decided that the cave still looks cool, and it should be a section of my base.
However, i now need a nicer surface entrance to the base, and so i started to clear out dirt for the nice 'base entrance'
I quite like medieval buildings, and i am going for some medieval towers this time
Here's a screenshot taken when i was halfway building the towers
You can see right in the middle of the circular pool is the base entrance, i think i will use simple ladders to get up and down, nothing too fancy
And here is our finished product, this is quite a fun project, however i did die once because of fall damage
Hello again everyone, I havent been playing in my world for 1 day, and when i got back to it, i spent 5 hours in front of the computer building my base! It was crazy, but it was fun building and designing nice things. This is so far my best looking base ever, so how about if we take a look at it.
Day 6: Build, build and build !
OK you guys might remember that our base entrance is in the center of the circular pool, with 4 towers surrounding it, and from there i dug my way down to level 54, so this new section of the base can connect to the ''cave'' nice and easy. I am really bad at navigation, and i took me 30 minutes working with x and z coordinates to find out how to connect properly to the cave, but i did succeed in doing that. I went ahead and mine tirelessly, i was going to stop and take some screenshots but i forgot about that, but anyways here is the hallway connecting the two sections
I continued to mine and mine for a while, no, not a while, for another 4.5 hours! Here is a list of things i have mined out:
1. Small circular room right where you enter the base
2.Branches leading to brewing room, a hallway with no purposes yet, a hallway leading to a bigger circular room, which is used as the central hub
3.The brewing room
I have decorated all hallways and rooms, except the brewing room, and i will show you guys right now
Here is the small hub with ladders for getting up and down. The room with a 3x3 quartz piston door is the unfinished brewing room. The hallway on the right is leading to the main hub.
Hallway leading to central hub
There is a branch that leads to the xp farm as well
And here is the central hub.
When i was mining the room out i found that the hub is actually right next to the cave, so i have linked them together, as you can see here
The cave has been decorated as well, i added flowers and more grass blocks
You may notice that i havent done the ceiling of the central hub yet, so if you guys have any ideas for the ceiling please tell me
You could make the ceiling like a dome, with a glowstone chandelier in the midde.
Thank you! I am not too sure if i could be able to do the dome or not, because i imagine a dome should be higher up in the middle, and i am afraid that will actually touch the surface. Nice suggestion though
You can do a dome with a small rise by basing it on a really large circle, like 3 times the diameter of the floor (about 25 by my count). I think you really want a higher ceiling in the middle and a dome is pretty natural. How much space do you have?

Hi everyone it is time for another update, this is the seventh day in my world, which means that i have played this world for one full week! This not a very big milestone actually, but i am still excited
Day 7: Enchanting madness and plans for this world
Its been seven days already, i have gather myself quite a bunch of resources, i now have a constant 2 stacks of diamonds and one more stack for use. Other materials are getting stacked up as well, so i suppose now is a good time to do a large enchanting session.
I realize you guys havent seen my xp farm yet, so here it is
You can see that the room is quite simple, with an enchantment table and 15 bookshelves for the maximum level 30, along with and anvil in the corner. The staircase on the right is leading to the 'kill zone', the chests in the far corner are for storing bones, arrows, bows, and armor drops from the skeletons. Nothing too special about the farm itself, but it is the enchantment i got that was insane.
Here is my second sword, which had 4 different enchantments on it, quite cool right?
Now to my bow, to be honest, i didnt expect to get a nice bow, cause every bows i have ever had was rubbish, but this one turned out to be pretty nice
I have never gotten Infinity I on a bow so its very special to me.
Ok, now moving on to my future plans. I am the kind of player who wants to get everything automated, so i have a long list projects here, i also want to build some cool stuffs too. If you have any suggestions for my list please tell me.
Things to do list (in the next 3 months only, then i will continue making plans)
You look talented when it comes to building. I need some lessons!
Thanks! About the building lessons i think i am not qualified for that, however you can see Voxel's guide to building.I think the guide is very useful and it did give me some ideas for my base, (example: the red stained clay with spruce wood combination came from the color palette he made), so check the post out!
Its time for update everyone! This is the eighth day in my world, and i am feeling excited
Day 8: Brewing Room
I have been brewing things since day 4 of the journal, but have a look at the place where i brew
Terrible right? It is such a small and ugly room. So i decided to make a real brewing room for showcasing the potions and also automatic brewing
So here i am mining out a room, i put some time into designing the walls and here is the design that i am most pleased with
Been working for 2 more hours and here is the result. I am sorry not to give you guys more frequent updates, i think i was just to focused on the room itself.
You can see there is a small room where i grow the warts, my plan is to make some automatic brewers in that room, brew a bunch of different potions, then carry them to the bigger room for showcase. I dont think there is a potion sorter(or at least i dont know) so i guess i cant use hopper to transfer potions and i would have to carry them manually. At the point when i took the screenshot i was unsure how i would do the center of the room, and i posted a thread on the forum for suggestions, so if you have seen my post you might be familiar with this screenshot.
And here we got the finished product! I decided to build a large bottle of water in the middle, The inspiration was taken from Etho, but instead of using carpets i used real water
The automatic brewers havent been done yet, cause i felt like one room per day is enough !
If you pay attention to my xp bar you can see i have done some enchanting, but none of them was very good, the worst was Efficiency III on my pickaxe, not very good for a level 30 enchantment right?
Well thats the end of day 8, if you have any suggestions for the automatic brewing room please tell me, and i would love to hear
