I love the rain and i support the option to cut it off if you want.

Go here, download and install No Particles!. Go to Options->Video Settings->Details->Weather->OFF

What part of "Don't want to install a mod" do you idiots not understand?

...And enjoy a massive FPS boost with no rain.

i like the rain and the thunder storms i like the thunder storms because i like trying to get struck by lighting.

Notch will make rain and snow with the next update much more bearable so I'll be looking forward to that :biggrin.gif:

Bearable = shut the **** off, IMO.

Just make it so that you can remove the mountain of particles it creates when it hits the ground. My framerate drops to abysmal levels during showers.

whelp ... just saw my first 1.8 rainstorm. Still annoying as ****ing ever. Still lags the client to its knees.

calm down good sir. it's part of the game, like pigs, creepers, enderman, everything that makes minecraft as it is. however you can always play another game if you don't like it.
