[...]and then there's the storage/smelting area which will be smaller because, with upgrades available from Applied Energistics and IndustrialCraft, we won't need many furnaces and storage devices to do what we need to. I'm honestly thinking of making storage it's own building because AE is THAT cool (in my opinion).
Did you mean Applied Energistics or Ancient Warfare? I ask because you didn't list it a few posts above where you listed what mods you're using.
Ancient Warfare does actually have an AE-like storage system, so you could mean either one.
I'm putting together a pack using MultiMC that pretty much mirrors the mods you are using so that people that want to attempt the challenge with a similar mod setup can do so, which is why I was asking.
I've toned down my own pack to something closer to yours, but I've added mods like:
"Fast Leaf Decay" (because I hate waiting for leaves to despawn)
"Streams" (because they are extremely cool)
"Lumberjack" (like Treecapitator, but easier and faster in my opinion)
"Fastcraft" (usually helps significantly improve game performance)
If you've added more mods to your own setup, can you please let me know so I can update my list? Thanks!
Personally, I prefer Treecapiator as it automatically handles leaves despawning and drops. My fiance can often be found complaining about fastcraft.
If you want a full list, I suggest just asking via pm because there are a lot of smaller mods in the pack I don't mention in the OP because, as it says, they're smaller tidbits that just add to the sundae. It also may change a few times because I often find a bunch of other mods I think are awesome and will add to it do I throw them in. This is basically how I made Monarch's Funbox, though the current version is not accurate because one of the mods in it can't be distributed, so.
That in itself is the reason I didn't want to make a pack originalky, though I can see how having things set up like I have them would be helpful.
In which case you will also need my configs.
[EDIT]

I meant Applied Energistics. I tossed it in later before recording because I think it's just a nice mod that's kind of hard to live without.
Build a bazaar/marketplace that has one of every type of Villager available to you (includes mod VIllagers, if applicable). Villagers must be safe from zombies. More than one Villager of a type is allowed and encouraged. In this way, you will always have at least some Villagers always in one spot and easy to find, but if the Village is wiped out by Zombies, you will always have a protected breeding stock.

Alright, the second episode is saving as we speak! Hopefully it won't take as long to upload as the first one did!! After it saves, I'm going to let my computer cool down and then I'll get busy recording the rest of the third episode!
I also recorded a sorta touchy-feely vid for you guys I plan to release after the third episode is out.
ENJOY!
[EDIT] THE SECOND EPISODE IS UP AND READY FOR ENJOYMENT!!
Hey guys! So we FINALLY have pictures of Pluto! And Pluto is ADORABLE! It even has a little heart on it!! *squee*
I myself am a bit of a space fan-girl and was debating throwing GalactiCraft into the pack (even though we've already started the series) because, well, space is cool and that can help channel some efforts into an end-goal for our adventure.
Thoughts?
Thanks, guys! Keep up the good work!

I don't mean to be unapproachable. I accept critiques and suggestions well, so please, by all means, make as many suggestions as you would like.
Whatever pleases you, Monarch. It is your lets play after all! Anyways, reason I'm posting is for some big news: I'm getting a better laptop, so once I transfer all my data from here to there, I might be able to upgrade my challenge to a one with more mods.
3 cheers for new computers!! I had my old laptop for 5 years before finally getting this one as a gift from my future in-laws for college. This one has a decent graphics card though it's still Intel's integrated sh*t. The processor is mostly what slows me down, though. It's supposed to turbo-boost to 2.4 but it never feels like it does.
Have fun with your new baby, Kyle!

Hmm. I'm adding a few more of the suggested mods and am running into an odd conflict with Thaumcraft and Pam's Harvest The Nether mod. When I take "Harvest The Nether" out, everything works fine. If it is included, Thaumcraft throws a fit about an itemstack error and dies on the spot.
Not sure which mod is the source of the problem, so for the time being, I'm just not including "Harvest The Nether".
Nice to see this post active after a few days of no activity
Anyways, I decided to try out the Anglo-Saxton challenge, and I'll probably just disregard the "This challenge ends at level 10" notice because I'd like to experience all this challenge has to offer. Anyways, I thought I'd share my modlist, and although its a work in progress, it could be helpful :S

And, if anyone has any unique mods that I don't have, feel free to suggest them!
Well, dragon and I discovered that if you set an option within the TreeCapitator config to false you don't need leaf decay. Also, as stated previously, you can often hear my fiance complaining about lag brought on by FastCraft than any "fixes" it proposes.
And why are you playing with Ars Magica, Blood Magic, Xeno's Reliquary, and Botania? I feel like that's a bit much magic for the Anglo-Saxons. They believe in lore and stuff but that's a bit much (play with whatever you want to. I'm not making rules, just curious).
As for the lack of activity, I was focused on a few other things and everyone else is probably busy at work on their challenges.

Yeah, I need a a good leaf decay mod, so that might be helpful .
I'm not exactly sure why I put so many magic mods in, I just followed the recommended mods very closely. Anyways, i probably won't end up using them, because I'm generally terrible at them .
And I didn't mean to be rude when I said that there was little activity, I just meant that I was happy that people were posting and active!
Bah-chi, like Bocci Balls (the sport) :). It's my dog's name, as you can see by y profile pic
I've only played bocci a few times. That's a cute pup! Good luck on the challenge!

Well I am going to do the Elven challenge without the tech mods installed. 1 don't want the lag and 2 its a magic race so yeah.
Will edit this post to post an update!
Elves don't need much tech, seeing as how they are a magic race, so yay. Have fun!

So, how would one go about adding such an idea into the challenge seamlessly? Would it be easier to talk about this via PM?

Congrats on the new laptop, Kyle! I'd be interested to hear what mods you prefer using in your take on the Fantasy Modded City Building Challenge. :-)

I just thought it would help add some extra interesting-ness to the Nether, though with BoP that's taken care of.
That sounds similar to the issue I had with Thaumcraft before I decided to go with AM2. Oh well. 1 magic mod is enough for me.

Too much magic tends to muddle the pack, I agree.
