So, either I'm just being silly, but it just seems I keep finding Endermen popping up in my storage room. One of them even popped up right behind me as I was accessing a chest. Scared the crap out of me.
It feels that the Endermen are trying to get their pearls back. For what reason, I dunno. Maybe to summon the Ender Dragon in the Overworld? To stop me from making machines? It feels so weird, and I wish they would just leave me alone.
The room, yeah it's 3 blocks high. It's fully lit with torches.
I actually never thought of that. The reason I got it three blocks high is how I got my chests stacked. They're two high, and I need that 3rd for them to open.
Maybe having slabs would make it 2.5 and stop them from spawning.

Yep, it would. You'll still be able to easily access your chests if you layer your existing floor with bottom half slabs. (And of course if you're concerned with materials, you can dig up the existing layer first.)
I don't believe that endermen spawn in strongholds though.

If your house is big and 2 > blocks tall, Endermen will teleport into it. This happens to me all of the time in my house.
Actually that is incorrect. They can't come into a 2.5 space. Also first post!

Torches won't help much against Endermen teleporting.
You could make make the room 2,5 blocks high?

Yep, it would. You'll still be able to easily access your chests if you layer your existing floor with bottom half slabs. (And of course if you're concerned with materials, you can dig up the existing layer first.)
Halfslabs above a chest don't stop it from opening either, neither top or bottom slabs.
And the ceiling can of course be higher above the chests.
So you could even have three layers of chests with a four block high ceiling above the chests and 2,5 block high passageways between the chests.

You can fix it easy but they might be outside the door of your storage room. Maybe your above a stronghold or near a cave?
