So Upon reading the Wiki Page on Lava, and it says Lava Springs cannot be duplicated.
Does this mean if I take a Lava bucket and like....take it to a place in the sky where it's "falling out" that it will eventually run out of lava (Imagine a waterfall coming off a castle...but with lava)
My idea is to have my house in the sky, with lava flowing out 4 sides of the Floating mountain. I know water will flow out forever if you planted a spring.......but will lava do the same, I guess Im asking if Lava will flow "infinitely"

It will flow infinitely, but with water, you can make a 2x2 square and infinitely draw water from it. If you did the same with lava, it wouldn't work.
With "lava cannot be duplicated" they mean that lava springs cannot create new ones. Let me explain by a very simple example:
WOW
OWO
W= Water spring
O= Empty
In this case, the water springs surrounding the O in the middle will create a new one there, thus duplicating. When doing this with lava, it won't happen. So don't worry about lava flowing infinitely, it does. :wink.gif:
Ok.....I understand, but since lava only flows 3-4 blocks out, i'll just have to make sure it's close to the edge of where I want the "lava-fall" to be?
interesting, but i still do not completely understand yet... is there any other way you could word that??? even french would do at this point.
lets put it this way: If there are 2 water SOURCE blocks touching and empty air block, The empty air block will become a water SOURCE block. Same with flowing water.
will lead to this:
and will also lead to :source block (water) :flowing water block :Empty air block.
That is why 3x1 and 2x2 water sources create infinite water.
Lava, on the other hand, has a FINITE amount of source blocks. If you do what i just showed you with lava, it will just create FLOWING lava instead of a lava SOURCE block. If you want a diagram, just PM me and i will send it to you, but there is no need for that as far as I can tell.
Lava n'affiche pas ce comportement. Un cube vide entre les deux ressorts de lave vont inonder avec de la lave, mais ne deviendra pas une source de lave.

yessir, you would.

Exactly. Pretty much what everyone else said, but still, exactly.
OOOOOHHHHHHH. NOOOOWWW I GET IT!;D Hahahah.
you can't make infinite lava springs, but with water you can
:wink.gif:
In the words of the Siege tank driver from SC: "Aaabsooooluuuutleyyy!"
You get an internet for this.
but one quick comment, if i were to manufacture a lava spring similar to a water one, it would not be infinite as water is... right?
i think ive got it now..
Wait... you lost me.
Please, just go and read mine or Mercfh's last post, that will answer all of your questions.
