I've actually started using Optimine/Optifog, so I'm using mods again. In this case, they really do help the lag spikes, and they really make playing on my netbook more bearable. And I do like the fact that they include better grass :smile.gif:.
Being that better grass is showing up in several mods, I think perhaps it should be in the base game?
Looking at a hill in Minecraft and seeing it as a bunch of mini-cliffs is rather silly.

When all is said and done, Will you have said more than you have done?
I'm 100% mod free at the moment =) When I get tired of minecraft I install a few mods and have a world that I cheat on and mess around with, but otherwise I play 100% legit, 100% unmodded.
I don't mind a few of the mods, but I just don't like the idea of losing my save because of a bad mod or something. Once minecraft is fully released, and mods don't need as many updates, I'll start using them.
It's really hard to not install the Aether mod right now.
I don't consider the Aether a Mod because of how awesome it is.
100% Legit besides running around in the Aether.

People who build absolutely stunning objects of fantastic creativity, those who are the leaders in what you can only imagine to accomplish in the infinite possibility that is Minecraft, I applaud you.
I hate mods. They're (at the moment) illegal and downright not-OK with Mojang and Notch. They also add some pretty strange and not-MC-ey stuff to Minecraft. I DO support the Æther, but only as an addition to the main game.
I do occasionally use texture packs, and regularly back up worlds. I back up the worlds in case of or
No, but you are one of the few. Most mods these days don't cause much additional lag/errors unless you have conflicting mods or a whole bunch of them installed.
I use a few, like better grass and for when i am testing stuff single player commands. also gonna checkout better glass.
but i do not install anything that changes the gameplay, well except for single player commands but that just for testing stuff, i have a extra world for that, and i swap between minecraft.jar's with and without the mod
i currently play with NO mods installed OR texture packs because i dont know how to get invedit or too many items... and whenever i follow any links that someone has then it usually turns out to be a "dangerous website involved in scams" OR an error 404! someone help me get one of those?
Mainly i always have the minecraft enhanced texture pack and SPC,with other little bits ad pieces like mods that can show me where slimes can spawn or other things that do those small edits to minecraft. :smile.gif: So i do use mods, but not "major" mods.

Yes, I use Optifog, Modloader, SPC, TMI, Fm Debug Mod, SpawnerGUI, and now the aether, but I might Uninstall it as it pisses me off more than anything else. None of these give me lower fps, not even the Aether.
Also my mods won't break the game when I update, but I need optifog to get more fps and to customize the graphics a bit more, and it also loads HD texture packs, which I use RARELY. I like FM Debug Mod, because I can press F3 and not have the annoying graph, and get more fps on a 256X texture pack.
Spc And TMI are just fun to use on non legit games or to get out of an embarrassing situation, like landing on top of the nether because the Aether mod is buggy.
Spawnergui give me the ability to change what dungeons spawners can spawn, good for making maps or just having fun, creeper/monster/giant spawners anyone?

^This and I won't be using mods that in my opinion ruin the game (too many items, singleplayer commands etc.)
Other than that, no, I don't use Mods.

And im playing without mods,
I get everything by legit.
But, I have different Minecraft folders, that contain mods.. Like, one for toomanyitems/item things/ect and one for like Aether mod.
