Minecarts have always interested me, so when I heard that in the 1.6 update that Notch would increase how fast they go, I was excited and happy. However, with that same update, they were then broken so that they will not push other carts on east-west bound tracks. That was 1.6, it is 1.7.3, 1.8 is coming soon, and there is now fix? I'm not complaining, I just thought this would be a bigger deal. While yes, gold boosters are faster and only require a one time use of resources, gold for me is hard to find because I don't mine too much. I'd rather just use the Powered one.
So what I'm basically saying is, am I the only one who misses them?
As of now? Completely worthless. If you could chain minecarts or if it pushed them then it would have use.

Wrong. Why remove it when you can make it do something useful?

I, too, think the Minecart-concept would be in for a complete make-over.
These are my main points, which I dislike :
1. North/South bug, where minecarts don't push each other. Seriously needs a fix !
2. Powered minecarts need to be redone, chaining minecarts to trains would be nice or the possibility to start them via Redstone
3. The ratio how minecarts loose speed needs to be revised, too ! See here : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/409893-poll-momentum-loss-too-high-on-empty-minecarts/ ( and please leave some thoughts on this :wink.gif: )
If you're in a minecart, and you power a minecart that is adjacent to yours, there is no way for it to push you. This is because powered minecarts, perplexedly, move in the OPPOSITE direction that they receive power from. This seems like such a simple fix, I don't know why Mojang doesn't patch it up.

They can't be used for transportation, which is what minecarts are for. Ergo, useless.
fix't
