Hey guys, i thought i´d show you my newly started survival world. I´ve spend a lot of time in my previous world, which was mainly focused on redstone and automation. I had farms for everything, and basically came to a dead end, where i just could lay on my back and get everything for free so to speak. I decided i start a second world an focus mainly on building. Make everything look nice, Eventually i´m going to introduce redstone as well, but it has to be hidden and it must fit in the style.
The point with this world, it has to look good, and feels like a nice place to be.
The big house is my starter house, where i have the stuff i need. Chests, furnaces, enchanting, crafting benches, anvil, potion stand and a portal. I´m building a castle, which will be my main base. I´m also building a village, which i eventually will populate with villagers.
After that, we´ll see. I will slowly build my kingdom, and it´s a fun way to play survival like this. It´s like settling into new land work hard to gather resources and survive and like that slowly rising an empire.
This is vanilla Minecraft 1.8.1
Seed: 7657801439979794194
Texturepack: faithfull 32x -Docm77 world tour edition
Gamemode: Normal
Cheats and bonus chest are OFF!
I obligate myself to never, ever switch to peaceful or creative, no matter in what situation i´m in.
First house:
This is actually the first pic i took of this world, before i decided to make a thread about it. It's a glitched spider walking around in the air. In the background you see the beginning of the first house, and the first collection of some cows for food.
Yes, i'm def. going to populate it with villagers. Just need a couple of more doors (i already try to put at least 2 doors in each house), and of course a big wall around it + making sure the lightlevel i high enough in the entire village.
That is one of the best survivals I have ever seen. wish I had a cool house like you. by the way. what texturepack are you using? It looks like faithful but water doesn't look like that for me. Btw if added a pic of my house (Still building)
That's a cool house, the trick i use is detail, like cobblestone walls as pillars, fence posts, buttons, blocks sticking out here and there, using different materials in the wall of each floor etc. That way you can easily make things look nice, without being a super good bulder
The texture pack is faithfull (32x) but it's modified by Docm77. He made the water better + it has clear glass, which i like a lot. The only thing is that it hasn't been updated for a while, so the newer blocks like diodorite, granite, andesite etc are still default. But i can live with that.

Nice thanks for the info. also by the way the resource pack is 1.6..
I Thought i´d say hi and give you a little update.
I wanted to show you some of the luck i had with this seed.
This is how i found my stronghold, i wasn´t even looking for it. I was branch mining and ended up in a cave. Followed the cave and came to this dead end. Looked up, saw a weird square sticking out (it was still dark) and thought it was a dungeon. Pillared up and there it was!
So of course i had to take out the dragon.
Another lucky break i had was when i first came to the nether. Here it is, fortresses on both sides of the portal.
I kept on seeing coloured sheep around my place. It seems there is a weird glitch where sheep every now and then seem to be able to walk through a fence. Just right through it.
And don´t ask me why i have pink sheep. I needed a red sheep and it fell in love with a white one i guess.
It also came to me that i obviously need a sugar cane farm for when my village is up and running. Need paper!
Weird glitch, water did´t update....
Little bit of action while working
Gave me 4 balls! (looting III)
And Zisteau visited me!
I also build a very simple skelie grinder for xp and arrows. No redstone, just a drop shaft, very basic.

Very impressive! I especially like the castle/fortress you've built. Something I think you could add to this forum though is perhaps a map, or an overview. Just an idea. Keep up the good building!
Thanks for the feedback again guys! Toms007, yeah, i wonder if anyone else had this problem and if Dinnerbone knows about it. Maybe i should report it? I haven´t checked it yet, but it almost seems that the sheep are being duplicated outside the fence, because i have a lot of coloured sheep roaming about, but the stock inside the fence does´t seem that much smaller... It´s really weird.
Sorry guys, progress has been a little slow due to private stuff that took up my time. I did build a little more in the village though and thought i´d show you. I have to start surrounding the place with a wall soon, set up a couple of purification stations and a building with holding cells for my best villagers for trading. For now i build a little church and another bigger mansion.
Church outside:
Inside:
Mansion:
I haven´t done much "survival work" but i have enough to go by for the moment:
For tools, armour and enchanting:
Some other goodies:
I have been trying to get silk touch and enchanted all this picks, plus a couple of shovels and a lot of books, but no luck so far This is mostly just efficiency and unbreaking, which is fine for the work i do. I have also a fortune III pick, that helped me a lot collecting diamonds, but i´d really like a silk touch!
I wonder how the area looks like as of press time. I would love to explore that place myself. You should provide a world download sometime.
I guess i could arrange that, but i want to build a bit more first.
I also thought it would be nice not to just show you guys finished buildings, but a little bit of the process too. I started to work on a building with holding cells for the villagers for trading, and trying to figure out how to get them there. I think my main source for villagers is to cure zombies, but of course they will breed too. The problem is, if i let them free in my village, it´s going to be very hard to get them in the trading cells. I figured i will find a way to get them from the curing station into the cells with underground minecarts and set up a way to distribute them in each and every cell. It´s still very simple and of course i can´t try it out before i got som villagers.
This is where i´m at:
Where the holding cells are going to be:
Starting to build:
I figured i use this system to separate them into each and every cell.
Hope this works.
Outside wall:
Inside:
I can cure them here, i just have to make them follow me, and then the pressure plate allows them to walk inside, getting them trapped.
I think i´ll sett up two or three of these little stations.
After they´re cured, i have to make them fall through a trapdoor, into a minecart and underground to the trading building.
I hope this will work, i have to experiment a bit with it as i get the villagers.
If any of you have som good suggestions, please, let me know.
I had some friends over too, asked them if they wanted to help me build, but they did´t seem very interested....
Ok, thanks! I did´t know that. They showed when i posted this earlier today. Over to imgur then!
Yeah, they'll show up until a certain number of views basically, unless you have the paid service. It's kind of lame.
I used to use photobucket until they added the bandwidth limits, then I switched to imgur. Imgur is far better anyway IMO and worth using over photobucket for anything and everything.

This forum has made me decide that I now want kids, so that when they get old enough, I can forbid them from coming here. it's a terrible place.

Darn I wish I could build like you can. I'm lucky if I manage to build a halfway decent looking barn. x)

You've exceeded the bandwidth for the pictures in your last update so they will not display(until next month, when your bandwidth resets I believe).
I'd suggest http://imgur.com/ for uploading screenshots. It's free, easy, and they won't block your pictures.
The BEST way to mine diamond, layer 12 and you.
