*skims* Ah--so I'm not the only one who's annoyed that doors now open instead of letting you attack through them (which, I thought *was* the original intended behavior, as otherwise you'd get trapped by mobs--creepers especially--camping your doorstep). I could see maybe not letting swords go through, but you should still be able to shoot through the windows.
Also, on an semi-related topic...is there any way to download patches via logging into minecraft.net rather than from within MC itself? I've lost net connection from home (money reasons), but can connect from the local library..but unless you can make MC completely standalone so it can be run from a thumbdrive, I'm not going to even try to 'install' it there (not my machine, after all).
Am I the only one who noticed that right clicking an item being crafted no longer picks up as many of them as can be held or crafted? I'm getting quite tired of having to click 64 times to convert a stack of sugarcane to a stack of sugar when I could previously do it with one.
you know if you really think about notch doing his gaming friday today even when minecraft is buggier then bugs bunny atm. to me it seem kinda unprofessional, he should have atleast rolled back to 1.5 until he had time to get things back working completely. im not trying to hate on him or anything, but just seems things have went downhill for this update.
Looks like 1.6.4 has some kind of item duplication bug in it.
I created a single trap door,
placed it on a stone (not cobblestone) block.
I destroyed it from bellow (bare hand). it took a longer time then other trap doors I had destroyed.
It returned to being a pick-upable item, but I ended up with two in my inventory.
I have not been able to duplicate the issue, no pun intended.
He had better be so stressed out and unable to fix bugs that he needed a break, else that is very unprofessional
I was patient before, and understood that we are bug testers, but that is grossly negligent. Notch, bring back Jeb and don't put off fixing game breaking bugs
Honestly, even if you are jealous of him, so bloody what? No matter the reason, the game needs Jeb, even if only to catch huge blunders like this. This is the sort of stuff that can kill game companies. If Valve did this, they would be hit hard. Don't think you can get away with it

That has never been a feature... if you had it as a mod, updating deletes all mods.

there seems to be a lighting bug (NOT lightNing) in my games, SMP and SSP where when i remove a block or place a block that is supossed to light up an area wont light up (or darken depending on the situation), anyone else having this problem?
I don't know if someone has already said, but sometimes, when I try to open a trapdoor with a tool or a sword, the tool/sword is destroyed directly. /:
And there is the bug I mentioned in a topic ( here ) but I don't know if it's a bug or not. /:
Nope, my weapons/tools don't get destroyed when I do dat.
well yesterday when 1.6.4 was released he had to leave for a webshow about 20 mins after it was released. and then today like every friday they play games instead of fixing the game they really messed up. they should have taken gaming day off and worked on the problems instead of ignoring the issues. its not like they dont have the weekend to play.
My discovery for tonight is that rain has become so loud and annoying that it makes the game unplayable for me during rain. So so annoying, I'm reduced to turning the sound off and switching to peaceful and going away until it eventually stops.
Now my wish for xmas is they give their customers the choice to turn off this blasted unwanted ear shattering rain. I guess I'll have to look for the audio file for rain and replace it with the old one.
Anyone know if that's possible?
EDIT: I found the old files. They're the same as the new ones. Never knew before there's 4 levels of rain, seems I never struck a downpour before. Now I'll have to experiment and find out whether its number 1 or 4 that is the loudest and overwrite it with a 'renamed' softer rain sound.
If anyone else is bugged by the loudness of the downpour rain and wants to replace it with a softer sound let me know and I'll guide you through the process, once I've solved it that is.
Cheers...........
EDIT EDIT: Tried every combination possible with the 4 files and nothing changed. Looks like I'm stuck with things as they are. :angry.gif:
Yes. The rain is definitely loud. But I didn't mind it. It sounded realistic and it was dulled just the proper amount when you are indoors. I liked it. However, the only rain I've experienced since the patch is the "Heavy Rain" so I'm not sure if that's a bug, or perhaps in time I'll get a "light rain" again.
Yes, I realize that. At the same time, the only excuse for not giving up Gaming Friday was either because he was stressed beyond belief and unable to fix the bugs, in which case he should tell us that they are difficult to fix, or else that (and I admit I didn't think of this) he managed to miss this thread/the bug list and not realize the severity
As it is the latter, I apologize for getting upset. Just seemed like he was mocking the players
Speaking of which, say you screwed up badly at your job and went to play video games. Bet your boss wouldn't accept, "I'm only human!" as an excuse
I admit that I lost patience too soon. Can you please admit that it is understandable why people may be annoyed with Notch when he plays games while a patch is broken to all hell?

The following is true, the former is false.
I don't think ice regenerating/spreading by itself without any snow fall is normal as this bug was not present in previous versions.

You do realize Notch is human, right?
