I been building this mansion in this awesome snow peak, with a view of a cavern volcano across the way, bueatiful landscape, ice on side ,desert the other, trees all about, nice mines nearby.
I bridged over and made a tower on this large pillar close to the mansion..
I wanted to make a line of lava travel down the middle of the pillar eventually, instead of using torches for its light source. You know, make it sweet...I burrow a path down the middle of it(I have levels that are where I have porches, plus a hole down with a long ladder that acts as an external exit if creepers are by my main doors.
Low and behold, MAGIC LAVA GOES CRAZY!!!!goes down the hole, but also spreads out everywhere, engulfing the ENTIRE MOUNTAIN. On top of that, I scoop the lava back up...BUT IT WONT QUIT. Eventually attempting to contain this mess, I die. I cant re cover all of my stuff, but do some. I lost my two iron pick axes(Hey I am still pretty new to the game, this is an ordeal here). Tons of ladder, I saved the glass I was going to use to encase it. Died 2 more times. Then I had to sprint through night time, punching skeletons in teh face, dodging creepers, to grab what last little bit of my items existed at the bottom of the spire. Now I am holed up waiting for morning
Q.Q I feel so stupid, and I am sooo sad at the same time. My snow covered spire is now a molten mess that is sure to be a brown dirt pillar in the end....

Not sure, maybe when my nether portal spawned floating above lava on a VERY small island. Fall off, landed on a small island (no more than 5 blocks wide and long) in a lava lake... with no blocks what so ever. Island too small to get stuff blocks off of to get out safely. After a short while I learned the lesson that ghasts are NOT very friendly.

Hey look buddy, I'm a builder. That means I build custom maps. Not maps like "Escapecraft 3", because that would fall within the purview of your idea of most puzzle maps. I build adventure maps. For instance, how am I going to allow some big old forum user to enjoy adventure to the fullest? The answer? Use a pyramid. And if that don't work, use more pyramid. Like this big, old, dusty pyramid designed by me. Built by me. And you'd best hope... being played by you.
First I screwed myself moment:
After playing on an SMP Server where creepers just disappeared and did nothing else when they exploded, I thought that was the norm.
On SSP, I learned that I was gravely mistaken.
When i found my first dungeon in SMP. Thought it was somebody's old house and jumped straight in. I thought it was infested with spiders so i got a sword after dying and went back. But they kept on coming and coming, eventually another player explained to me. I hid in shame.

My first "I SCREWED MYSELF" moment? Going on peaceful. IVE PLAYED ON HARD SINCE THE ****ING START AND THEN I GO ON ****ING PEACEFUL? FML. sorry for caps, but im extremely ashamed of myself. I had 5 diamonds, 4 hearts, and no food. I went on peaceful. Now I have like 50 diamonds and I would rather loose them then go to another difficulty. Only because i've been hard forever, and vow not to go to any other difficulty again. (and idk what to use the diamonds for)

Good use of a diamond sword.

It's like Lego, but occasionally a terrorist sneaks in through your window and blows all of your **** to hell.
Lighting my first Netherrack in my entirely wood mansion. Yeah...

My first "I royally screwed myself" moment would have been when I was on my third try at surviving. I screwed myself both of those times, also, but nowhere near as bad as this. I build a great little fort in the side of a mountain, that spread all the way up the mountain and around it. I had a castle on a little sand island out by the bay. It took me forever to build, seeing as I had not yet discovered the wonders of an inventory editing program. The castle was small, but it was built completely out of smoothstone, for it to look nicer, because I had not yet discover the wonders of Painterly texture packs. So, when I found out about the bow and arrow, (my favorite weapon, aside from the guns in the SDK Mod) I leaped at the chance to find some shitty gravel. I knew there was a quarry of gravel nearby, so I headed out there. Mind you, I had not yet figured out that building close to a spawn point was smart. I made it to the quarry, then realized I didn't know where the **** I was, as my residence was in a valley tucked into a large selection of mountain ranges. I had to hole up in a little dirt and gravel hole, but luckily I had at least 1 torch and an extra bed on me. Eventually, I just got angry and gave up. That's when I started to actually think, "Maybe I should figure out what the **** to do before I do this again." But, I didn't do it again, to my relief. This resembles the shack I was in.
My first "I Screwed myself moment" is when I did the "Never dig down" rule when I found my first diamond, I dug I fell into lava and it was a single diamond too. It was also when I did not learn to put stuff in chests so I lost everything too
The first time I ever found lava, I decided I would put a big lava pillar next to my spawn point. Unfortunately, I put it right next to my spawn point. The next time I died, I spawned in a pool of lava and couldn't get out fast enough to save myself.
I guess it adds fun. At least its not like the time the game glitched when I had dug deep into some caverns...When it rebooted, it had sealed my a billion blocks below, with my iron pickaxes that had like 4 strikes left with it...
Man I swear the downloaded launcher ALWAYS crashes. Now I only use browser windows.
Building a trash can, involving a cactus 3 blocks below the ground.
Fell into said trash can.
Failed to jump out.
Died, lost all my items when they made contact with the cactus.
