First off, if this is in the wrong forums, sorry, I had a hard time figuring out where to post this.
Now to the topic. Any World of Warcraft player, especially pvpers, will know of Arathi Basin. It is a location capturing based battleground. There are 5 capture points. Farm, Stable, Blacksmith, Lumber mill, and mine. The object in the WoW version is to hold on to as many as possible, so that you reach 1600 points before your opponents do.
I was thinking, how could this be implemented as a minecraft pvp map? Simple. The Farm and the Stable has wheat (The Stable meant to feed the horses, but in times of war...) which you can make into bread, and cow spawners, you can farm for leather armor. If you control the lumber mill long enough to mine out the lumber there, you can use it to create barricades, or sticks for weapons. The mine, if you can hold it long enough, can be used to get upgraded weapons. You mine out the stone, and the iron nods to create better weapons and armor for you and your team. The Blacksmith would have the only forges and crafting table, along with chest of coal. You want to control this place long enough to smelt the iron, or craft your items.
It would be a regular deathmatch style pvp, but with these resource deposits as a twist. You would start with a wooden sword and pickaxe, as to make it so everyone isn't rushing to the lumber mill, and other then that, you have to get all the other resources.
Now I am not a builder. I could never figure out how to recreate Arathi Basin map in the game, but I know it is possible, and that they're many talented builders on this forum. I would love to see someone recreate this, and try it out with a few friends, just to see if my ideas aren't as crazy as they appear. Ty for taking time to read my post.
