I have played minecraft sine like Just after the halloween update(which disappoints me sometimes)back in November and have played constantly on both Classic and Survival. But recently ive been having trouble finding fun things to do in it. I had a main world that i kept for 3 months or something but deleted it to try Minecraft with monsters this time, but since then ive made like 7 worlds and cant seem to find them to be any kind of fun at all. Right now the only thing thats keeping me on my current world (and possbily minecraft in general) are the maps, just to see what my towns look like on them.
But sadly my love for minecraft is dwindling with even that. Im sure there are some of you out there that have gone through what i have and found something fun in the game, so I wanna know what you did to keep yourselves playing.
I play on servers a lot and make my own between updates to blow things up, but I want to want to play SSP mainly since that gives me a chance to practice my building skills(i cant build anything resembling anyhting good).
Why not take a few months off and play other games for a while? I've been enjoying Minecraft immensely since March, but at times, I just don't want to play. So I don't.
I have some suggestions to enhance the replayability of the game, especially the last paragraph:
Happens to every Minecraft player eventually. I recommend playing puzzle / adventure maps found here. The most recent map I played was Minecraft's Edge, a parkour map inspired by the game "Mirror's Edge". It's awesome, btw.

I would suggest adding mods. I myself got bored of vanila Minecraft about a month ago, and I began adding many many mods.
Millenaire is one of my favorites, as well as RPG mobs. Also try adding the Humans+ mod. Those three combined make for a completely new Minecraft. One that's crowded and full of life, not just you alone with some cows.

I tried mods before and they were fun for ahwile, but not worth the installation. I prefer vanilla above all when it comes to single player
I find it more enjoyable when you don't play the life out of a game in a quick succession, I take breaks and play other games and watch TV, hang out with friends, etc.
The main reason why this helps is that you can gather ideas and information on those breaks so you don't sit there in game not knowing what to do.

Lol. Games are just entertainment. If you no longer have fun with one whats wrong with taking a break from it?

I did it, for like two weeks and I came back strong.
