But, Can I post some video of my future home even if I will use INVedit?
INVedit only affects your player data save file for a specific world. So technically, if you had only a save file and nothing else related to minecraft on your computer you could still use it. Now, this means that it doesn't effect the source coding of minecraft in any way. Actual mods for in-game use are the only ones that effect the actual game, and they are perfectly legal, and encouraged too.
I'm sorry, but if invedit is illegal, every mod in minecraft history is illegal.
Technically until there is official modding support, they'd all be in violation of terms of use. If Mojang chose to do so, they could disable the acounts of any unofficial modifications to their product. Instead however, Mojang is embracing the modding community and is working together with it to bring official support into the game.

Nope, it's illegal to use INVedit. Several gamers have been arrested for using that program, some of them 8 years old, some of them 30+. No matter if you're a little girl or a grandma, they will treat you like the criminal scum you are.
Bro. It's legal. Half the Minecraft user population and half the videos of minecraft would be arrested and deleted if this, and other mods like this, were illegal.
Yes, it is illegal because it alters the copywrighted code of Minecraft thus infringes on the game's policies, Although many people use it illegally, it poses a certain risk to them, and if Notch ever updates his code to detect INVedit use, he could possibly prosecute the users.
True dat.
Quite a while back, I got a mod for ballistic knives. For two weeks, I kept off the creeper police force with that one mod and a few blades. Finally, Notch updated barely in time for me to see the light as the blades disappeared with the creepers, leaving me in the middle of a patch of wild grass surrounded by pigs.
OT: To those of you who think modding is honestly illegal, I would like to sneak into your homes with various members of this forum, tie you to a chair, and force you to watch me as I download toomanyitems into one of your saves and start filling your inv up with brown wool, spiderwebs, obsidian and diamonds. xD

Actually, that's the best mental image ever. A dying, drowning man stuffing his face from a massive wall of cake, and carving out a monstrous underwater cake picture. I'd pay to watch that irl.

No, it's not illegal, in fact, Notch is actually adding things into the game to support modders who make things such as this to help to people with their minecraft experiences.
Hi,
I Have a question,
I saw some pictures of a software name "INVedit", is it legal to use it in Beta Mode ? (Single Player)
If it's illegal, i will not use it.
But, Can I post some video of my future home even if I will use INVedit?
No.
You see, INVedit will make your blocks look strange, by placing a large "INVedit" stamp on whatever side of the block you can see. so people will know you use it.
It is also possible that INVedit changes Minecraft, so that videos and screenshots cannot be taken. We can't verify this though, as we can't see and videos or screenshots of it actually happening.

This topic is most definitely along the lines of something I've been wondering the last month or so:
Why do so many people think modding is illegal? It's not just with Minecraft. I've been seeing this kinda question a lot (at least once daily (I visit waaay too many forums >_>) the last month.
Was there something I completely missed? I mean, I've been PC gaming since the 90's. Wasn't until last year that I started seeing questions about whether mods were illegal or not. :/

I don't want to know.
I can give you a 100% guarantee it is legal, 100% legal, nothing can happen to you for using it.

With your logic, mods are illegal.
