I disagree with the ladders. You can just dig out a block to the right and place a torch. Trust me, every other step ladders never looked good, in any situation.
Currently, I am sort of PISSED that glitch boosters are being taken out. That's bull. Until I, myself, recreate ALL the features in my station (which I can't do right now, because even the non-glitch boosters are pretty effed up), I will not believe that the regular boosters and detector rails are AT ALL good replacements for the glitch-boosters.
EDIT: I mean by this, they should be left in until Mojang makes a WORKING, FULLY FUNCTIONAL, replacement, at which point they should be removed.

No you didn't, because TNT damage doesn't stack.
See my About Me section for info about me.

Notch posted that he increased the power of the powered rails.
Wish granted
1. Ladder glitch with half ladders, so I can use torches
2. Minecart Boosters.
Any others?
1. Mine one block place torch
2. Powered minecart tracks
It's like people have never played a game that's in development before.
Also, Notch realizes that there are some glitches in-game that people enjoy, but they are just that glitches. Every glitch that gets fixed keeps the game headed into the right direction making it more stable and complete. If Notch fixes a glitch that the community deems to be fun, he will most likely add an alternative feature that he sees to be balanced and fitting to the Minecraft world.
All glitches should be fixed that is why they are called glitches.
I really don't agree with this rigid and simplistic type of thinking. There can be a very thin line between a glitch and a feature. This statement is also an example of what is called circular reasoning, a logical fallacy. Saying "x is y because it's an x" proves nothing.

Umm.. What?
"x is x because it fits the definition of x"
Fix'd it for you.
This prevents your circular reasoning issue. You can continue your life in a linear fashion now.
There is no line between a glitch and a feature. They're two totally different things. A glitch is an unintended and potentially unstable side effect of the code. A feature is an intended function of the code. If a glitch causes an enjoyable side effect that you wish to keep, you debug the code to find out why it's doing it. You then fix that bug to prevent stability issues, and add more code to perform the same function in a stable, intended manner.
OT: I agree with most everyone here. ALL glitches need to be done away with. Some glitches I would like to see converted properly into features, though.
As for your glitches you'd like to keep:
1. Ladder glitch with half ladders, so I can use torches
Not sure why he chose to patch this one. I think it was to work toward fixing water ladders. However, I never used ladders for blocking my water. I always used signs. They still work, btw.
2. Minecart Boosters.
These created considerable lag on some servers due to the speed they achieved. There wasn't a speed cap and the code couldn't handle the calculations. This could crash/corrupt a lot of save files. Much needed fix.
He also compensated us for both fixes. You now create 2 ladders for the same cost, and we have booster tracks that work fine and give us a use for gold. He even added in the bonus of detector tracks. Double win!!

I would like light to shine through stairs again, I had a really nice looking ence kind of thing with water behidn it, but it looks bad with it dark :sad.gif:

Actually I still think my example described it better. Look up circular reasoning if you are confused. All you said was x is x because it's an x, which doesn't even seem like it goes in a circle, just stays in the same place... Static reasoning...
I don't particularly mind either being fixed. But I disagree with people that are saying that they *had* to be fixed. Glitches in games have ascended to feature status on many occasions. Just a couple examples off the top of my head, "surfing" down hills in the Tribes games and rocket jumping from the original Quake.

Notch has said that you should not get to attached to your saves, as it is in beta, and any update has the potensial of breaking saves.

Herobrine does not exist. He is not in the code anywhere, there is not a faintest mention of a mob like this. Herobrine does not exist. All encounters are hoaxed and are clearly hoaxed. Some are good hoaxes, but still fake.

Yeah, I'm sure you wouldn't care at all if he took out something you really liked, would you? [/sarcasm]
Don't try to act indifferent to the possibility of negative change just because this particular issue doesn't affect you.
If infinite spring is removed, I will be a sad lad.
This isn't a glitch, it's in the code.
I believe all glitches should be removed. They are glitches, and are not meant to be in the game. But, some people still argue that the glitch booster is a feature even though it has glitch in its name...

Only people who have room to complain at all are the ones who have made huge complicated mine cart stations that will take hours to fix with the new booster tracks. Those people I do have sympathy for, but not the ones who are just complaining because they have to go cut down a few trees and make some ladders.
Heres 2 of the easy ones:
1. Ladder glitch with half ladders, so I can use torches
2. Minecart Boosters.
Any others?
This.
Every glitch should be fixed. The game is still in development. They're not going to leave glitches in when they are well aware that they exist.

Awesome ideas (not mine):
The Aether
Oceancraft
Geocraft
Farmcraft
Google these to find out what they are!
