There are some things in the changelist that would totally ruin my world. For example: * Fixed minecarts next to each other causing extreme velocities (sorry!)
I need ^this^ to get to my shafts which is 850 metres away.
* Fixed entities reaching water through wall corners
I need ^this^ to get up to my Inglip's Shrine. Changing this would mean an ugly waterfall. :sad.gif:

Give me an internet, or Chuck Norris will kill you!!!
Seriously, I think it's ridiculous to complain about obvious bugs and exploits being fixed. There's actually not one bug fix that I think I'll regret, except possibly the change to fire spreading. I'm worried it will make fire too little of a threat, depending on how it's implemented. But I'll wait and see.
I don't think you can speak for all of us by saying that "we all don't like some of the changes". I love the changes. I'm very happy that they were fixed. I'm probably going to end up using my minecart system much more frequently now that the glitch carts were taken out.
This. I love every little fix of this update.

Manly blood is both highly acidic AND highly basic, but I'm glad to see you're paying attention.
I like all of the changes, but my personal belief is that player made machines and not developer made machines *cough*booster rails*cough* are 100x more impressive. I don't think bugs that allow more creativity should be fixed. Look at the difference, "I just spent 3 days inventing the newest booster, that can propel you 3000 blocks! The only setback is it doesn't reset." and "Oh I just spent 10 seconds CRAFTING a booster that sends me 100 blocks! Whoopee I invented something!". Where's the harm in giving the player more options to create machines and buildings? What harm was the booster doing besides being a cool creation that hundreds of players were able to use to make some of the neatest machines that the developer could not even think of? Now the only true machines I can think of that are left are mob traps, boat elevators, and redstone contraptions. These machines are the only thing keeping me in the game, inventing new ones, watching people like Ethos Lab create new ones, and just being in awe at the human mind and the capability to invent. How long will it be until Notch "fixes" everything besides redstone. I will have no hope left in the game if that happens.

No. You're being purposely ignorant, and a smartass.

Redstone works just fine without glitches (though the bug where repeaters don't continue changing states once you re-enter a save should be fixed), so I don't know how that's releveant to this.
In any case, the reason these things were fascinating and cool was that people figured out how to take advantage of the bugs. The only difference between the game with bugs and the game without bugs is what people have to take advantage of. There's no stopping people from using in-game features to make awesome contraptions without bugs (see PearSquirrel's compact minecart station, for example).
Personally, I'm more interested in seeing inventive ideas using what's intended to be in the game. THAT takes creativity.

Just curious here, but you're wanting fire to be a threat by means of...?
Other than lava or player stupidity, there's nothing in single player that would make fire a threat, ever. Lightening sets stuff on fire, but rain puts it right out.
So the only "threat" I can think of is by means of griefing in MP. And I'm all for that being as little of a threat as possible, personally. :tongue.gif:
The one thing I'll miss the slightest is the South-West ore distribution being fixed, but I play on SMP so I'm exploring as much of the SW corners as possible now to take care of that.
You'll.. what? Why would you possibly miss ore only spawning in the correct proportions to the SW as opposed to in every direction? Why would -anyone- have more fun only being able to mine SW?
The only bug that I'm somewhat disappointed about being fixed is the one that'll break water elevators using boats. We've all known that minecart boosters were going away, and fortunately we have a replacement. It is somewhat annoying that we won't at the moment have a replacement for speedy vertical transport (ladders are all we have now, and they're unfortunately slow). I would have liked to see one of the vertical transport bugs left in the game until we have a replacement.
The general attitude here seems to be that if someone is disappointed with something Notch does, that means they're a spoiled, selfish Minecraft player that discredits Notch and takes everything for granted. This is definitely not the case for everyone. The fact is that some of the bugs that have occurred have become accidental features, and I would like to see some of these features brought into the game intentionally (as booster rails have been).

It's not a big deal for me, I'm not pitching a fit over it, I just liked that my occasional laziness could be satisfied by branch mining in the SW corner.

My humble LPs can be found here.
Obviously many people DO like the changes. Maybe you shouldn't make assumptions based on your "spoiled brat" point of view.

Sure, why not.
