I was playing two days and I decided to go mining. I packed up and head in a direction that I had not before in hopes of finding an open cave. Eventually I found one and I started exploring it. Everything was going good until I made my way further down into the cave and i noticed something strange. There were already torches on the ground and the walls. Now I know you are probably thinking that I had been there before but just forgotten, but I have three reasons that make this very unlikely.
1. ALL of the torches were placed in two's. By this I mean where one torch was placed another would be one block next to it. I would NEVER waste torches like that.
2. NONE of the ores were mined. Now if it was just coal then I would say I just ran out of inventory space when I was first there and I just left without mining the coal. However, there was not only coal, but there was iron and even gold. I RARELY leave iron, and I NEVER leave gold (I don't care if it isn't useful, it is shiny :tongue.gif: ).
3. None of the other entrances to this cave were lit, only the one that I just came through was lit. That just doesn't make sense to me.
I don't know if any of you have experienced anything like that before, but it was really strange. I would have taken screenshots, but let's be honest, there is no way I could prove they were taken right when I entered the cave. They would have just looked like pictures of a cave that I was currently exploring. Oh, and yeah I know about Herobrine, and it is the biggest bull I have ever heard. I am not even giving him consideration, because he is not real.
Please take it easy on me, this is my first post. :tongue.gif:
Sometimes if you lose a world via crash it is not always lost forever. Ive found that when my comp or minecraft crashes even though the world isn't any longer on my world list if i name it the same as it was (and this has happened even without the same name) it may reappear but i would have a different spawn so it seemed like a different world. I'm thinking perhaps this happened to you sometime in the past and this may be a reloaded world. Otherwise i cannot really think of any reason a new world would have previously set torches.
I guess it could have been a glitch, but I never heard of something like that.
I am not BSing, but obviously i can't prove that so you would have to take my word for it (I know that is incredibly hard on the internet :tongue.gif: ).
As for forgetting, it doesn't seem possible to me considering the three reasons I gave. I haven't even been on this world for all that long, and I have only mined maybe three times before this incident on this world.
You probably just loaded a chunk from a previous world you deleted/crashed and lost the save. It's becoming more common for people to be loading some pieces of their buildings and such in a new world after they delete the other world.

That actually seems like it could be possible. I wasn't going to mention this in my post, because it is a lot more explainable, but when I was above ground looking for a mine I came across a path of torches like something I would do to find my way back home from a long trip. I used to do that a lot on previous worlds, but I didn't recall ever doing that on this world.
However, now that I am thinking about it, I don't think I have ever "lost" a world to a crash. I have had the black screen of death, and then eventually I delete that world, but I have never straight up lost a world.
It is one of these three things, period. Assuming it's not one of the latter two, it's most likely a chunk error as others have mentioned. Sometimes a chunk(or several chunks) can load improperly, and take chunks from other (possibly deleted) worlds, or other places in the same world.
I heard that sometimes when creating new worlds,(which you did, since you started it two days ago) that sometimes chunks from one of your other worlds are added. So maybe it just did that but did a really weird error that included that? Sorry if this is a waste of time, my only explanation.

I'm quite the shady customer.

Hahaha nah none of my family members would know how to make a torch, let alone something as elaborate as this.
Just forget about it and keep going.
