Swear that's actually McGonagall? Someone back me up here.
Let me see my HP7 book...
'She ain't answering, you old besom! YOU open it! Garn! Do it, now!'
'Certainly, if you wish it,' said Professor McGonagall, with awful coldness. There was a genteel tap of the knocker and the musical voice asked, again, 'Where do vanished objects go?'
'Into non-being, which is to say, everything,' replied Porfessor McGonagall.
'Nicely phrased,' replied the eagle doorknocker, and the door swung open.
Simply deleting a file does not erase it. This is why you should be careful when dealing with certain...sensitive documents that certain government agents frown upon. In order to truly delete a file, a Gutmann method is recommended.
It's really sad how bad this forum has gotten. The guy just asked for simple help and all you guys do is try and make jokes.
Its funny how you act like your some veteran who remembers back when it was so much better, yet you only have 2 posts. Also, his question has been answered quite well in several different ways by various people. Apparently we aren't allowed to have a little fun, or its “really sad.” Thanks Buzz Killington.
When you delete a minecraft world it reincarnates into a creeper . It remembers how you disrespected it's chunks when it was still a real world, and is out for revenge. This is why creepers stalk you and blow your **** up.

Just for you, I'm going to put a highly technical description of what happens in tiny font that you can copy/paste into a text document at your leisure.
See, your hard drive stores information using something called a filesystem. In that filesystem, you have things called pointers that tell your hard drive where files start and end. When a file get's deleted, the pointer is simply erased, and the data it was pointing to is left floating somewhere on your hard drive.
You could maybe pull a system restore or something, that might work. Or maybe a file recovery program... I'm not sure.
Luna answered the "Which came first" question. McGonagall got the vanished objects one.
