Share the scariest thing that has happened to you in Minecraft. NO HEROBRINE!
My experience: I live in a huge house in my Minecraft world. I was awoken by the "You can't sleep now there are mobs nearby" thing. I check my whole house and even a bit outside, no mobs. I kept hearing zombie noises and couldn't sleep. I finally found the zombie on the roof of my house.
Every time I go in a cavern with Medium+ difficulty. I get crushed by the feeling of dread.. and the creepy noises don't help either. I'd say this is what a noob experiences, but it just.. *shiver* happens to me e_e (though this year will mark my 2nd year since getting Minecraft in November 2012.. but meh)
I play an adventure map with my friend, Area 51... That was scary. Aliens kept jumping at me. You can take a look at it by clicking on my signature. Cheers!
first time i played minecraft, i had absolutely no idea what i was doing. i ended up staying in a cave for 10 minutes looking up tutorials and i was scared of a cow since i thought it was a zombie lol. but in beta when they still had that very very very loud arrow shooting noise, you go to sleep when monsters are nearby and a skeleton just pops right up at you, really surprising jumpscare lol.
I don't think you will believe this, but when I logged into my SSP world then walked into my base, was this crazy guy who said the following words, "I own you now." Don't believe me? Well then.. here is a screen shot.
Just recently I had one of the scariest Minecraft moments so I had to come back here and talk about it.
Any of you know the mod Minecraft Comes Alive? If not, it's basically a mod which turns normal villagers into people. Not like actual players, but skins. It's hard to explain for me sadly.. Anyway, it allows you to marry and have children.
So I went and took my 'husband' mining and I clicked 'stay', but when I come back from checking out a ravine.. he wasn't there. I freaked out. Badly. I even cheated myself a whistle (which calls him back). ... Just.. just..

There's a secret underwater cave in a stream I live by. The cave is unlit, so there are hostiles down there. You do not want to fall down there. I wonder if that's where the floating hostiles are coming from.
Headless Creeper and Headless Villagers. Let's talk about the Creeper since I actually grew to like the Villagers in my creative world.
So after having messed around with defending Villages on Superflat in Creative I decided to get a seed for a Village and do it in Survival instead. When night came, a Zombie attacked the door, I attacked the Zombie, a Spider repeatedly knocked me backwards along the path, and as it knocked me back, something dark-green started walking off the sand and towards me. I paused the game. After studying it for a few seconds, I realised it was most definitely a Creeper, minus the head and with darker lighting than it should have. Sadly I had yet to gain my obsession with F2 that I have now, and I have no proof of it. When I reloaded the world days later, I was already dead immediately, from the explosion which for some reason I hadn't gotten to see.
Some people have experienced very similar stuff like this with other mobs (not just headless in fact), usually to do with memory errors (which were a big problem back then until I figured out my render distance had defaulted to Far). But nobody's told of stories about this kind of stuff with Creepers.
I stuck to Peaceful for many of the following months.
The Headless Villagers thing involves a chunk glitch that nobody else had ever seen, but that's a story for another day. Besides, it got fixed... Well the Villagers losing their heads did. For this reason I doubt I'll encounter decapitated mobs in the future.
OMG! Something like that happened to me once. I saw a zombie without legs. Nice story!
I have two so far, and I could not tell you which is most unnerving...
The first time I played, I started Survival mode - default settings, just as it came.
I woke up on top of a hill, and in the distance I saw fire...
As I got close, it was getting dark and the stars came out - it was very pretty...
I ran towards it and realised a small lava lake was setting its surroundings on fire.
Suddenly, I hear strange sounds off to one side and note I'm taking damage etc.
A witch came out of the forest, from down the hill to the right - generally kicking my behind!
I ran away like mad and dug a hole in the top of the hill past the next valley until it was light.
When I went back in the morning, I noted the witch was not there so I wandered around the still burning forest, hoping I didn't get burned when in the thick trees I heard a "thunk" sound and looked around to realise I was being shot at by a skeleton in the early morning light.
I kept wacking it into a tree trunk with my pickaxe I made until it was dead, but it was still pretty freaky.
The second one was I a couple days ago after playing for a few weeks I spawned a vanilla world that happened to have some islands a long way offshore - so I swam out to a smallish sandy one and dug out cobbles etc to make a small house.
I then tunneled down next to it, getting cobbles, granite etc like normal until I stumbled on a cave (under the sea, by now... and I spied down a long shaft at the bottom at the edge of the light a pair of beady eyes of a Creeper - and then a couple zombies!
I was freaky enough to break into my first natural totally sealed cave accidentally to find the bottom full of mobs.
Luckily I quite quickly realised there wasn't anyway for them to climb after a mo, so I made a spiral staircase down and dropped sand on them after spawning blocks around them so they could not get away and suffocate.
But still!
SHEESH - those eyes!

I usually get jump scares by mobs dropping down on me.
In an abandoned mineshaft all nice and quiet, just minding my own business, then suddenly, a zombie drops down in front of me, and attacks.
I've had pigmen do this to me in the nether too. Its quite worse when its 4 in the morning, and its eerily quiet in my room at the time too.
Although, the worst one I possibly had was about two years back, I was playing around with a new texture pack. I can't remember the name of it sadly though. I think I even have a picture somewhere on these forums. So, as I was saying, I was just walking around, minding my own business as usual, looking for wood. I happened to turn the camera quickly, and what do I see? A scary looking face on one of the tree trunks. Not expecting it, I jumped back almost out of my chair.
