So I'm chilling out in my house, it becomes night, so I decide to go to sleep. I'm rudely awakened by a zombie, so I modify the blocks around my bed (knowing that a bed bordering a block can cause monsters to spawn).
So now, my bed is not touching a single other block, and, convinced I'm not going to be woken up, I go to sleep. Yet again, I'm awoken by a skeleton. Confused, I come here. :smile.gif:
So here are some pics...

when it comes to beds, doors count as no blocks, try putting blocks by the doors and try it again, of course that is impractical so just lay a few torches outside the doors.

Well, it really does look like a bug that monsters keep "Mr. Sandman-ing" you, but try a few of these solutions and see if they work.
1. Make sure that there are no dark spots within two blocks of your bed, including under it or above it.
2. Try using F3 to see if you can spot any clues. Perhaps their is a monster spawner nearby?
Although this is unlikely the cause.
3. I've seen this problem before, which leads me to believe that it has something to do with having a double bed.
Try sleeping in a single one.
4. Sleep on Peaceful. Not really a good solution, but it will obviously work.
Hope this helps. Nice little house by the way.

It's bordering the ground :\

My main bedroom has two beds next to each other, and i've not had a problem with them in a month worth of sleeps.
Looking at your pic, those two overhead blocks in the corner are my guess. I've had a similar setup and didn't get a good night's sleep until i completely cleared a 4x3x3 space. The two diagonal overhead blocks effectively make it a 4x3x2.
All that said, i have had perfect 4x3x3 bedrooms with more than adequate lighting and still had zombies trying to get into bed with me, so who knows. It may just be a glitch.
The only post so far in this thread that fits my own situation is the one noting that the ground outside the house is at the same level as the floor the bed is on.
Even then, the ground outside my home is overlit and fenced in. They still disturb my sleep.
My guess is that you need more torches. Beds seem finicky about lighting. (Ironic, since most people sleep in a dark room in real life.)
It is. But would you if you lived in a world where darkness in your home could mean being attacked by a zombie in your sleep, and feel you got off lucky? I'd have lots of lights on, personally. :smile.gif:
I kinda love that Minecraft is a game where one can have the feeling: "I dislike the aesthetics of placing enough torches to prevent the living dead or sad exploding beasts from bursting from the shadows at random". I just like that that's a thing.

Incorrect, closed doors count as a block.

it means, you need to have the bed surrounded by two walls:
where
= wall
= bed
