Funny, I have the exact opposite problem. I can only find "cold" biomes, like Taigas and Extreme Hills.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
Keep looking. Unless you did something to the world gen, there will be other biomes. I feel like the hours searching bit is a bit exaggerated, have you really searched all that long?
Try concentric circles from your spawn. I go in one direction and tend to find a lot of the same types of biomes.

"It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for the winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. And also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?"
I would suggest getting some obsidian and going in the nether. Traveling as far as you can in the nether and then put up another portal to get into the over world.
I do this a lot to cover a lot of distance rather quickly as the nether is something like 3x less block wise versus the overworld. Hopefully you will be teleported onto another biome.

It's a scale of 8:1 so every block in the Nether = 8 Blocks in the overworld
Makes nether rail 8 times more efficient, although doesn't mean you can get the 1km rail achievement by going 125 blocks in the Nether

My current settlement is at -4000 something. Took weeks of sailing to discover, and my explored territory covers nine large maps. Make it an adventure of itself, imagine being an exiled lord trying to find a new home after loosing his ancestral lands or something.
I have a similar world I'm playing on now. Around spawn, there's almost nothing but desert and savanna. It took several hours of exploring to find much more variety, and several more after that to find any extreme hills (for emeralds).
On the other hand, lots of villages, and lots of desert temples to loot
97% of teenagers would cry if they saw Justin Bieber on top of a tower about to jump. If your the 3% who is sitting there with popcorn screaming "DO A BACKFLIP", copy and paste this as your signature[/b]
But what do I know, anyways? Good luck. ;D
Same here.
To you and the thread's author, try using nether portals to travel a long distance.
I am a friend of all Snow Golem kind.

Prepare for loads of sarcasm.

I believe they are referring to the Savanna biome in the game.
