He removed the FAQ because nobody used it and continues to post random spam topics that are answered in there. Kris left because this is one of the most disrespectful, trollish forums that I know of. When you get people actually supporting trolls, that is when it becomes unbearable.

I nearly left the forums myself yesterday.
I hope you are talking about this board, if so, then I agree. If you are generalizing this whole forum, then you are wrong. Many sections are anti-troll and have good users.
First housekeeping edit: Reformatted and recolorized Table of Contents. Links are nonfunctional because I are ignorant. Implanted one joke.
@ Kris18: With respect, I wouldn't have done this in the first place if that post was all you needed to convince me. I know you don't want it on the forum, I'm just not convinced your reason is good enough to justify depriving people of that information. Please feel free to persuade me, and I mean that in all seriousness.

Have you even been to other forums? This place is tame compared to, say, roblox forums, or most of 4chan. Minecraft Forum is pretty average compared to most of the rest of the internet.
I agree with Kris18. In particular, since people aren't allowed to post their videos and creations here anymore, I barely even read this section of the board anymore, as it's just full of stupid, stupid threads. What happened to the mods? They got a whole flock of new ones and started with a whole bunch of zeal, and now they seemed to have petered out. Frankly, however, the fault of the degradation of these boards lies solely on the users of them. They tolerate and even contribute to blatant troll threads. Anything that could be a decent discussion spirals into flames. Any time I have directly confronted this kind of garbage, there's always these laissez faire kiddies that think the boards are "too serious" or "need to have more fun". Well, guess what? There's very little content left on this board. Honestly, there is no reason to read this anymore.
Sadly, the true disappointment here is that users haven't let down me, or Kris18, or anyone else that feels this way. They've let themselves down. This board could be a lot of fun to read and offer cool new ideas about minecraft. It's just sad.

If you really respected him, you'd not do that against his wishes. It's his work, and the wiki does contain all of that information anyway.
Oh, an ask me how often I add anything from this forum anymore to my thread. I used to get several links from a page, and I've read every thread ever posted in this forum and the alpha forums. Now? Nothing.
As immature as it was to remove the FAQ out of what appeared to be spite, Kris18 has the right to remove his FAQ, and it's not really fair to re-post it.
I'm not saying I think Kris18 made the right decision delete the FAQ (I can assure you I don't), but personally I don't think re-posting something he doesn't want here is the right thing to do either.
Besides, isn't this a chance to re-make the FAQ, better, from a blank slate?
I've all but abandoned this forum myself. I find Planet Minecraft to be much better organized. The only reason I stick around is because it's the home base for the UTD. I still post my works here, and answer questions and comments and whatnot about them, but that's it.
As for Kris18, I support his decision regardless of how he came to it. If he wants his work removed. Then it needs to be removed and not reposted. If you want to make your own guide based on his, go ahead. But just copy / pasting his work is not ok.
Wait - people used to get quality info out of this thread? Geeze, I thought all it was good for was maybe getting some basic help if the game wasn't running correctly, or hosting mod packs. Other than that... eh.
Second housekeeping edit: fixed the colors and restored external links (not links internal to the FAQ). Updated/clarified content in farming and slimes [edit]. Reformatted and recolorized Information section and sporadically elsewhere.

I think I can respect him and not his wishes. The alternative is basically to say I don't respect anyone I disagree with. I disagree with that decision strongly enough that I feel I must act.

I think it's too valuable a resource to let him take it out -- and did he ask all the people who contributed to it whether they were OK with all their contributions being obliterated?
As for the "new beginnings" argument, it's a good one. I'm not stopping anyone, but I think having this as something they can refer to as precedent is a good idea. I may also end up revamping it here [edit] Don't count on it, though!

Kris18 has every right to tell you to take it down, and in all seriousness, you have to. You are using what HE wrote, this is HIS guide, and he doesn't want it on the forums.

Did kris18 copyright his guide? If not, it is perfectly legal to repost it, and even to claim it as your own.
He wrote 99% of that guide himself, and any other resources were used with permission. There is a thing called Intellectual Property, so regardless of copyright, his guide is his.
Even so, copy/pasting the guide may or may not be legal from your own country's laws, but that doesn't make it morally correct.
This here is the reason I hesitated for months to even join these forums... And moreover, why I hardly ever post here. It's just a hodgepodge of immature drama BS. I occasionally check to see some cool creations and ideas, but that's about it...
I'm sure he wrote the words, but I seriously doubt that percentage is correct as regards what information he found himself vs. what was pointed out to him in the context of the FAQ.
