My apologies about not having pictures (I have no clue where they are stored), but I found out that if you keep a Booster Rail running with a Redstone Torch non-stop, it burns out the rail.
Or that's al least what I'm assuming. Maybe the rain electrifies it and burns out.
When it does, it turns to a pitch black (not like when it isn't powered by anything, I mean black).

Has anyone else seen this happen?
To find screenshots, on windows hit super+r (super = windows icon key)
type %appdata%
click run
open the Roaming folder (if not already open)
open .minecraft folder
inside that folder open screenshots folder
there you go
oh yeah that only works of course if you press f2 ingame to take a screenshot first
for linux it's the same thing except instead of using the run command, you just open your home folder, press ctrl+l, and type .minecraft.
on mac osx i have no clue how.

I believe Whiteknight knows something that us others don't know; and that would be the ability to smooth talk stone into mining itself for him.
Sadly, we don't have access to your hard drive, so we can't access that link. You need to upload that picture to an imagehosting service like imageshack.
As the update arrived, i built a very long minecart track, based on the new rails only (no usual boosters).
I used the booster rails in maaaaany different cases... some are really complicated... some are as simple as a single torch next, beneath, over... or where else it, to lit it. I found out some strange things happening with the new rails, but they have never affected a torch. Whenever there occured a buggy thing, it always has to do with the rails itselfs, but never with other blocks...
Do u have any mods installed?
Mods? I used to have a Texture Pack installed, but I went back to the default.
