You, sir, are a non-douche. Of that, and your willingness to help the community, I commend you. As a reward, please let me give you 5 internets.
You can only give me one. :sad.gif:
And thanks. I used to go around telling people to use the search button (usually nicely) while giving them their answer. I finally saw complaints about the way people were being douches and we already had a lot of repeat threads, so nobody was happy... so I made this. Took a while. :tongue.gif:
Your welcome, you deserve it. Believe me, this forum needed a thread like this. I hope you find much internets in your future sir. :biggrin.gif:

So... I was building my HUGE dickbridge across the universe, when I stopped to get some more wood.
Pretty nice, I would add a section explaining the generation of snow levels (at least until biomes are added).
Regarding the "how long do dropped items last": with my first mob spawn experience, I have a suspicion that items dropped will disappear if you die before getting them. That is, you're killed, they fall, respawn and die before collecting them, respawn again and they are gone. I hope that makes more sense than it seems. :|
On the subject of making the list neater, maybe try adding underlines to the headings? They are bigger font, but still don't really stick out enough. I'm sure this will help many people good job!

"When as children we listen and dream, we think but half formed thoughts. And when as men we try to remember, we are dulled and prosaic with the poison of life." - Celephaïs, H.P. Lovecraft
Great job. Regarding the creeper records, it's easy enough to test out. Here's a tutorial. I personally got one record from a creeper entirely by accident. I had no idea they could drop them. I was battling skeletons at the time, but I'm not sure whether it was me or one of them that struck the final blow to the creeper.
Regarding cacti, I recommend you change You cannot place any two directly next to each other (except for diagonally).
to You cannot place one directly next to another cactus or any other type of block (except for diagonally).
Edit: Maybe that's not a good formulation, but get the point in there somehow, to answer those "I can't plant cactuses!"
Wow this is great. This should be stickied. I am trying hard to think of more noob questions. ooh "I keep clicking the blocks but they will not break. What is going on? Solution: Stop clicking and hold the button down"
I read my latest replies and I'm gonna go through them again to make sure I add most of them. Someone asked for color coding. How exactly do you think I should code it?
I think the bit about Slimes should probably go into a whole new section which just has a small screenshot of each mob type and a brief description. I'm not sure if that's turning it into too much of a mini-wiki though...
I think it would be. I do have a link for all mobs in there for the dragons question. I think I'll add another question for all mobs. Thanks!
This post is just full of so much WIN. That I will make sure it stays near the top.
Hmm another question would be...."I died and I re-spawned but my stuff is gone. What happened?" "When you die, your items will be left at your last place of death. However there is a glitch where you may lose some of your items so try not to die!"
No I did not say I died near cacti (that was someone else). I actually died near a giant cobble pillar of my own. I think the items no clipped into the cobble and therefore somehow my stuff was lost.
But you do not have to write that there is such a glitch for the newbie guide. Some people may not realize that there stuff is not completely gone and that it was left at their last place of death.
I just bought this game and started using the cartograph. Are maps normally supposed to look like this? They have blocks of land far out in the middle of nowhere. And areas of the map have perfect square mountains.
(meant to click edit, but managed to hit quote... heh :Notch:)
Ah, yes, the finer details! :tongue.gif:
And workbenches and furnaces.. fair enough.
Edit: Added in. I'm gone for the night. Bye! :biggrin.gif:

rly?
so did i !!!!!
Yes Timmy, that happens form time to time, and is deemed freakishly awesome.
^---Totally needs a bullet point of its own.

Are there creeper spawners in the game?
