I remember my first day/weeks of Minecraft, where everything was really exciting (e.g Finding coal, making a door, building a huge dirt wall around a tree farm, building a staircase, finding more ore) and being scared of and finding that first ) , and now, I'm longing to feel that same excitement/scariness again.
And this lack of excitement I've had has led to worlds being deleted, while having stacks of resources left(I can't bring myself to use iron and diamond and gold -__- the total uses overall since I started playing for diamond tools was probably like 100, or 150 to 200 blocks broken.)
Though every once in a while, either watching YouTube videos, or having some other source of inspiration, I find it fun/exciting again.
As of now, I'm busily building a house into a mountain side/cave, sooo I guess that boring-ness has left me..for now.
Also if I was to choose in the poll, I would say I'm at a level of 'Minecraft is not really exciting, but I still play.'
What was your feelings on your first nights? And are you longing for that same feeling too?
It is still very exciting for me, but it has went down from when I had first played it. Creepers still sneak attack me, but I am starting to not be surprised. Except for that creeper behind tree yesterday. I am starting to experiment with redstone alot more, and I have been building more.
Darkness still scares me. I usually stay away from natural caves and instead branch mine (if I come across a natural cave while branch mining I block it off heh). And I only explore during daylight heh.
About deleting worlds and starting new ones, I find it better to just leave behind an old base and go off into the horizon to make a new base elsewhere. This works especially well now that we have beds (since they set your respawn to them) and is good for generating new chunks where new features can be seen (like new blocks that wouldn't exist in old chunks).
That way later on you can go back and see your old structures and bases. It also gives you a new appreciation for the nether since making gates becomes a good way to visit old bases.
