This might've been listed but I've seen this either twice or more. It's a lighting glitch, after a while it usually fades off but this only happens when day switches into night.
When going to sleep in my bed sometimes i will wake up at night being attacked by a zombie inside my base
That happened to me in Beta 1.3_01 another version of the game. I don't think it's a glitch. But the rate of that happening is getting higher. It took me +10 times to be attacked by a hostile mob before I could wake up in the morning.
I was making a dock, placing fences on there to make it look cool i placed 4 fences then the other fences i placed came invisible! fix this i dont want invisible fences
placing torches next to them make it better.
I put a wooden post about two chunks high to fix this.
I started to play the Quesadila seed just for fun. I walked around and it seems an ember from a lava pool had started the entire forest on fire. When night fell and i was trying to frantically dig holes where trees had been, i ended up having to build a stack underneath myself to stop the zombie hoard from sacrificing me to their Gods.
Anyway, when i looked out across the now barren field, i saw that - where the flame had been, but has not been for a while, light still spread out from where it was as if the flame was still there.

I have had this also, and have noticed considerable lag associated with it... for the brightest spots, setting and removing a torch forces a recalculation of the lighting. However, many of the dimmer spots are the result of blocks of air being falsely lit and casting light, a torch will not reset it. The fix: find the brightest block, stand on it, jump and set dirt blocks to form a tower and elevate yourself. Eventually, you will set a dirt block where the "lit" block of air is, snuffing the glow. Pain in the ass though to run around erasing false lighting so you can get on with your minecraft existence.
Here's mine - not sure if this is a bug, or an infinitesimally low-chance glitch:
I have a portal hub, the main portal being located at (X,-46 Y,177). I have ventured some distance away, establishing a new camp, and while chopping wood discovered this at (X,584 Y,286). I DID NOT PLACE THIS PORTAL HERE!! (and I never add corners to my portals)
Notice that even though it is active, it is not glowing, but black. Stepping through the portal brings me to the nether at the place I should be if I went through the one far to the north!!!
Stepping back through indeed brings me back to my main portal at (X,-46 Y,177), causing me to have to journey the many miles (lol) back to the southern camp. Not a game-breaker, but certainly a head-scratcher!
BTW, I destroyed the damned thing and scavenged the obsidian... not sure if I want to make another one yet... I'm still kinda freaked out, man... I've seen things... terrible things!
Its been several times in SMP after setting several places as /home, all the places will always merge into a single place, losing all the other spots.
Meaning say i make "/sethome dessert" on a deserty area, "/Sethome forest" on a forest, and /sethome Beach in a beach for example, next time I enter the server, all 3 will get me to "/home beach."
So I can rarely have more than 2 homes as they keep reseting as I set new ones.
On our SMP server, with just the SimpleServer wrapper, and everything else identical, hostile mob spawns become increasingly rare periodically. We have tracked down the issue to the apparent fact that Slimes are not naturally despawning (ie: other mobs have a functionally finite lifetime, whereas slimes do not). It is also apparent that both Wolves and Slimes are counted against the mob total if they fall within the visible region of the map, and not simply the active region -- in fact slimes are visible for incredible distances when using x-ray texture packs. Culling our wolf populations resulted in improved passive spawns. Clearing caves and placing cacti to kill the spawning slimes improved our hostile spawns.
While there is a benefit to having nights with no hostiles spawning even in the darkest forest, it isn't clear that this was an intended feature of having slimes spawn. My thoughts on fixing this include having a separate mob count for slimes AND a forced lifetime on them. It also strikes me as odd that the spawns within the visible region are counted against the totals when there is no way to interact with them, but this is a bug that wouldn't have been recognized before now...
When i leave my world, my place dissapears, All items are gone, the world too is removed
That is not a bug in 1.4, that is a general problem with the game setup on your particular system. You may be better served posting this in the support forum.
In SMP, when I mine a block, particularly stone and coal, sometimes it disappears without dropping an item then reappears. This is really annoying because you can suffocate if you're in the area of just mined blocks.

Not sure if this is here yet but...
If you make a wolf while you are LOGGED IN. (as in connected to the MC server) then tell it to sit, then turn off minecraft, then spoof your name, so you can not connect the the server, the wolf you told to sit down will not stand back up. If you hit it, it will attack you. Like in 1.4. Its 1.4_1 now, right? Also, its vice versa. If you tame a wolf offline, then tell it to sit and go ONLINE, it wont stand back up.

For some reason the pigs poop out orange portal guns and the cows poop out still alive record and the poison is a blue portal gun.
I'd be more worried about the cows and pigs if I were you...
Sadly since 4.1 I haven't been able to play on my online server. I can play one person just fine but when I log into a new world online I just fall through the air and nothing generates, I left it like this for some time to see if it was just lag but I get nothing, just blank blue air space and sometimes I'll see mobs falling as well. I updated everything that needs updated but still nothing.
I have 3 wolves, all sitting and I can't make them stand. Not sure when they broke, they have been sitting since I tamed them. I tried a couple texture packs, even renamed the world, deleted bin folder, logged back in and they still won't stand up. I didn't play offline. Using Meine Kraft basic v2 atm.
Edit: I found some new wolves and they sit and stand. Old ones won't. Wish I didn't have to kill the old ones. I like the company. They seem to spawn in my front yard every 10 - 20 days or so. A Creeper killed me as I jumped of a cliff trying to get away from his ambush. He blew me way out into the ocean and it was very deep. I lost all my gear and the last of my bones, I won't be taming any more wolves real soon.
I just completed my mining run. I had 6 diamonds and 100 iron + gold, redstone, saddles, and more dungeon finds. It got laggy, so i restarted minecraft. When i entered the world again the block wouldnt load, so i fell right down, and suddenly i was swimming in lava...
Wasn't that fun really. Im playing on hard so i also got lots of monster drops... :/
Im not the kind of type that uses INVedit, even in situations like this, because it allways gets wrong, and when you've first used it, you forgot one item, then you add it, but then you loose everything you've gained after that again...
+ its obvious cheating (though its legal, but anyways)...
When enemy mobs have taken notice of you and you are higher up than they are, they will look that same angle, downward. I'm 90% sure that the opposite is true. If you are below them, they look up. Very unemersive.

you didnt have to kill them you needed to pour water over them , it even says on the minecraft wiki
Pouring water on the wolves only triggers the stand and shake water off animation, which I did try.
But the results were; wolves still sat, but some got pissed off and I had a wolf fight on my hands in a partially flooded house. The broken wolves ate 2 of my newly trained ones, then promptly sat back down, still broken. LOL
If a stone oven is used to make glass from sand, it will not produce any when the player sleeps in its bed while it should have been running the whole night. I haven't tried it with other material than sand.
It's not a bug - it's always been that way with beds. Time does not actually pass while you are sleeping - the game just jumps to morning. Things don't grow, smelting does not continue, etc.
