Tamed wolves will despawn and not teleport to you correctly if you travel sufficiently far by boat, it seems. They were following me fine for a well, teleporting into the water around me, then vanished when I reached my base.
I think something with the terrain generation has changed in this update. I've come across several patches of exposed stone that look like they belong under dirt.
I agree that terrain generation has changed. I have seen some oddly spawned single player worlds, Including one that was just a giant flat wall with visible half caverns and water and lava pouring out the side. Looked like a giant chunk error but wasn't. Also seems like there are a lot more caves near the surface; and a LOT more floating islands/ single blocks than I used to see.
When you try to place a button on the floor, as long as it's a dirt block covered with snow, the button will be placed on the air block adjecent... It's hard to explain, try it yourself. This button cannot provide power/be pressed, it is simply destroyed.

There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary.
Those who do.
And those that don't.
Fishing rods are able to be stacked and will all get lowered durability if one of the stacked rods is damaged.
And something else that surprised me.
While changing my settings to hard (I normally just play on normal but I wanted supplies) I noticed that mobs spawned where they didn't normally spawn before, namely in my little house that has only had a spider spawn in it with the Halloween update. (It was in the lower floors). Can anyone confirm if Notch has fiddled with the lighting?
I find that when my wolf friends take a ride in my minecart, it creates a "beam" of wolves as it is trying to warp back to me, but is stuck in a minecart. It works fine if he is sitting, but if he gets wet, then he shakes off and glitches out again. He loves me too much...
Has anyone else encountered the problem that tamed wolves that are sitting when you exit will stay sitting no matter what you do when you re-enter and if you attack one, it'll jump at you and attack you while sitting?
Also, please bring water ladders back, Notch, or at least replace them D:
EDIT: WATER LADDERS WORK! There just has to be a body of water at the very bottom, connected to the first flow, and you have to start from the body of water. I'll edit this post later with proof.
EDIT EDIT:
1 mushroom that where growing on sand and a lot of other that was just there.
and it occurred on a part of the dessert that i had never been to before...
Yeah, i keep seeing mushrooms in weird places, like on top of a tree
That not unusual. lots of mushrooms were, in 1.3, growing on sand or in trees.
----
edit: I should clarify that. Mushrooms have changed. Not their locations or how many, which the world gen seems to control, but the fact that they last into daylight a bit longer now. Before ( in 1.3 ) you had to be out at dawn before the skeletons burned to find ant decent amount of mushrooms. By the time the skeletons burned the mushrooms had been exposed to enough light that they would pop up and disappear by the time it was 'safe' to leave shelter.
Now with the update they don't pop as fast and can be found under dense tree canopies etc well into the day. The trigger levels for them popping have been tweeked.
But they are not any more common than before.
Whenever I go into F11 mode and then switch back, I cannot move anything in my inventory, in a chest, in a furnace, or use the Main Menu for anything other than pausing unless I switch back to F11 Full screen mode.
This might just be a localized issue, but it has happened every time I switch to F11.

Nope. patches of exposed stone were common. Depended on the seed. Some maps had them, some didn't. Is 1.3
Was a giant chunk error. Delete the folder manually empty your recycle bin,. regenerate the map. if it's a chunk error it'll be gone. If not post the seed and co-ords.
Caves and islands are seed dependant. Unless you're comparing the same seed on a 1.3 machine with the same seed on a 1.4 machine, you can't say things have changed just because you've never run across them before. Generating a completely new seed means nothing when you find something new TO YOU.
If you delete a seed and exit minecraft immediatly then minecraft doesn't have time to delete all the files. when you use that seed NAME again (the folder / world name, not the seed used ) the new world gets written into the old folder (named with the seed NAME which already contains some of the old deleted seed's maps.
Minecraft will load those old maps as belonging to the new world. Thats a chunk error. Lava and water will flow as normal and appear to be 'natural'
If you think it's not, provide me with the seed and I'll test and apologise if I'm wrong

Still don't work. I tried everything :sad.gif:

How can you place something without walls?
actually you are wrong, i'll go ahead and provide proof in just a second

This has been an issue for a while.
