The placing cactus, sugar cane, and ladders on the floor (not on walls) underwater is an old bug and is not new to 1.4! I have not updated my client to 1.4, I just tested this and these bugs exist in 1.3_01 and thus need to be removed in the OP.
Confirmation Screenshot:
Apologies for the darkness. The one on the left is the ladder, middle is sugar cane, and right is cactus.
Wolfs glitch back and forth after they get into a minecart. It looks similar to the smp arrow glitch. I took some screenshots but they don't do it too much justice. I will upload them if requested though.
Confirmed - Playing SMP
- You can place a cactus anywhere underwater, even on dirt.
- Beds do not always act as the spawn point
- Black screen of death MUCH WORSE
I don't have screenshots of this but when you have a door open for a dog to come in through he won't go through it he will just walk along side it as if it was a wall. But if you break the door then he will come through. I'm not sure if this is because I had double doors because when I break one he can come through but only on that side. Also my double doors are NOT wired with redstone to plates or switches. Also when a dogs health is low if you try to feed him bread it won't work not really a glitch but you eat the bread so maybe if you can't feed it to them make it so you can't eat it will looking at them or something so we don't waste our bread lol.
When Mobs die of Sunlight Damage, they aren't dropping anything.
Do other people experience this? Is it apart of the update to prevent easy items? I didn't read anything about it.
Downloading a fresh bin folder fixed it, but beds still don't work as spawn. I thought I remember reading somewhere that Notch said you had to press a certain button as you were sleeping to make this work, but I forget where I saw that.
-Every time i try to use a bed it wakes me up and spawns a monster, My bed is in a bright area with no way for anything to get in and space around all sides of the bed.
-Beds do not reset spawn at all
-Large FPS drop
im waiting for my SMP server owner to return from school so we can test SMP.
I'm trying to play on my server box. Specs:
- OS: Ubuntu 10.10 amd64
- CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz (Deneb)
- RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600MHz
- GPU: VisionTek Radeon HD 5750 1GB (128-bit PCI_EX_x16)
- MB: GIGABYTE GA-880GA-UD3H (using onboard NIC and audio)
1) Server's gone... was running Bukkit and Essentials, now neither of them support B1.4. No surprise there, plugin devs will need a while to recover.
2) Can't even run the game! After my update, it worked immediately after the update. I selected Multiplayer, realized my server was "outdated", and closed the game. Now, I open to the launcher, login, and am greeted with a black screen. The window is black. I have to kill the java process in order to get it to close. Have tried force redownload, after the download, it goes to black screen rather than the logo. Tried updating the *launcher* or launching it from the CLI, but still same error.

Possible Ideas on what "Leave Bed" is and how to do it? Or maybe the button option didn't add to the patch and that's why it isn't working as spawn.
That's purely for SMP as there, you have the option to leave a bed again. Reason is simply: If not everyone is in a bed, nobody will sleep and you might be waiting for two minutes or so if you couldn't leave on your own. It just causes the game to run the "wake up"-thing with a press of a button instead automaticly. It doesn't mean you have to pull off an almost impossible move by leaving a bed right when you laid down.
But do you think the team meant to add that button to single player? It seems nobody is able to make it work, and if they gave the button in single player, and you pressed it (since it takes a good 5 seconds to actually sleep) between laying down and sleeping, it would work for SP too?
That has been there since last version, if you destroy neighbouring sand blocks they all will fall.
I don't think it is a bug, it could be just like very compacted sand that is still kinda 'brittle'?
I like it anyway
Floating sand has been in Minecraft for a while now. It's not a bug; it's a feature -- but you can only find floating sand that is naturally generated (unless there are plugins or mods for it). This also applies to gravel.
Just like Night_haunter said, if you destroy any block that is directly touching floating sand/gravel, the floating sand/gravel will fall. That being said, if there are several floating blocks all touching each other, causing one to fall will cause them all to fall.
This is probably one of the easiest ways to suffocate, especially if you are underground, see floating sand, mess with it, and cause a cave-in.
I know this through experience.
