Temporarily not being worked on, will resume after school lets out for the summer.
The other day I was thinking "Wouldn't it be great if books actually did something?", so I went to see if anyone had actually made writeable books yet. Turns out that someone has, right here.
So I downloaded the mod and it's pretty cool, but now I need something to do with these books. So I came up with the idea to build a library. Right now it's pretty simple (and nowhere near done), the first bit is just going to be a floating tower with three floors for books. Thing is though, since each block of bookshelves can hold 16 books this allows for nearly 7 thousand books to be placed inside. So, if I ever want to expand, I'm gonna need some help. If anyone wants to submit a book to the library, post a link to a text file of it and I'll do my best to include it. If you're going to submit something I would appreciate it if you would please format them appropriately to the books in the mod. Also, you can submit anything you want, related to Minecraft or not, fiction or non-fiction, whatever. If you're submission is short enough I may include it in a single book with other short pieces. Pics to come soon in posts below.
This was suggested below, and I think I'll be adopting it for the library. Any comments or suggestions about it are welcome.

The library should be separated by Dewey Decimal System, except relating with Minecraft. So the Minecraft Library System.
000 - General Minecraft Information
100 - Advanced Minecraft Information
200 - Mining
300 - Architecture
400 - Redstone
500 - War and Combat
600 - Minecraft Fiction
700 - General Fiction
800 - General Non-Fiction
900 - Compendium of Significant Minecraft Creations
If this were to be implemented, there would be about 700 books per section on average, and some sections would have more books, some less. Like the Dewey System, the 10 categories would be further divided into divisions. This would make it much easier to find actual books within the library. So if you wanted to find a book about Herobrine for example, instead of trying to look for things alphabetically, in which case the books might be scattered around, you go to the 500 section, Minecraft Fiction, and 520, Minecraft Lore.
Ideas for further sub categories would be appreciated, along with suggestions for modifications to the specific topics.
One last note, I will not be putting real world published material within the library. I'm fairly certain that would be quite illegal, so don't suggest it.

At the moment I'm building in singleplayer, and I'll upload the save eventually. If someone wants to put this on a server then, well go for it, but I don't think I'll be hosting it.

Try transcribing one of the major Minecraft stories like Slaves of the Coal Mine or something like that.

If you're callin' about the Mobtalker scripts, I no longer have access to them.
However, it's been getting tempting lately to put together a modpack that includes CustomNPCs, so I could definitely work in something along the same themes in the modpack's quests. Feel free to give suggestions of mods that promote an experience which minimizes mining grind in favor of exploration. I'll likely have to include Grimorie of Gaia to provide good models (No I'm not gonna directly change the default mob models)
The books are fifty pages long plus a title page. Each page is seventeen characters wide by sixteen characters tall. Could someone link me to some good MC stories then, since search is down atm.
EDIT: The page size is approximate, may vary slightly depending on the character size.

The first four were taken at night because I don't yet have the roof completed (or even the first floor), and I wanted to give a good impression of how it will look inside when complete.
The bottom two show it during the daytime from outside. There will be several more floors above the first one and I intend to replace most of the exterior cobblestone with smoothstone. The interior cobblestone will be replaced with colored wool, though I'm debating the exact color to use.
EDIT: Pictures not working atm, attempting to fix.

Transcribe the OP of the "The Art of War" thread. Also, the actual Art of War by Sun Tzu would be nice. War and combat could be a section...
Alright, I know what thread you're talking about, but it seems to have vanished on me. I've even tried using google to search for it. But a good idea none the less.

I just came up with a few. They aren't very good, but meh.
The Minecraftian Bible
IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS NONE. NOTCH DISCOVERED THE BLANK PLANE AND, OVER THE COURSE OF TWO YEARS, CREATED HIS REALM; MINECRAFT. HE SET FORTH A SET OF RULES ALL WHO RESIDE IN THE REALM MUST FOLLOW.
1. THOU SHALT NOT GRIEF.
2. THO SHALT NOT WASTE COAL ON LUXURIES SUCH AS SMOOTH STONE.
3. THOU SHALT NOT KILL THINE PIGS WITHOUT SACRAFICING ONE GOLD INGOT TO NOTCH, BY THROWING IT INTO A PIT OF ETERNAL FIRE WITHIN A SHRINE DEDICATED TO HIM.
IF THY FOLLOWS THESE GUIDELINES SET FORTH BY NOTCH, HEROBRINE WILL OVERLOOK ALL SINS AND ALLOW PASSEAGE INTO THE AETHER. IF YOU BREAK THESE RULES, THOU SHALT BE CAST INTO THE NETHER AND BE MORPHED INTO AN UNDEAD PIGMAN.
The Youth Creeper
The youth creeper stared up at its mother and smiled. Only the youth smiled. The mother frowned upon the one called "Steve" for setting foot upon this holy soil, destroying treasures of the underworld, and demolishing the skyline. Yet Steve called them the monsters. The mother frowned at Steve's idiocy. The youth grinned with innocence.
These Mysterious Lands
One may ask themselves; how did so many things in this world come to be? What caused the creepers to gain the power of self-destruction? What gave the skeletons their bows and arrows? What gifted clothing to the zombies? What built the dungeons of this land with its own hands? What put us here on this landmass?

I really like this idea, and I don't know that we'd end up with such an even distribution of books as what you said considering this first part of the library could have up to 8640 books in it... Which makes me think abit.
When I began this project, before I actually did the math on how many books just the first tower alone could hold, I intended to have this library built as a series of floating towers with redstone controls closing or opening different parts of the library. No automation, but have a person in charge who can shut down different parts if need be. There are actually large rooms built into the domes on the bottom of the towers which were set aside for this purpose. The exterior walls are also extra thick so that they could have redstone wiring concealed behind them without any way know where they were.
Now I'm not so sure these will be necessary. I may build them anyway, once the first one is built, just to give myself something to do when I'm not transcribing books, but I don't know that I could ever fill them.

Try transcribing books like Harry Potter. It would be AWESOME.
That could create copywrite issues though...
Anyway, good luck, it looks like the project is going to take FOREVER.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I don't want to cause any legal issues, so no real world published material will be put in the library. However I'm gonna need alot of ideas for books, and so If you guys have anything post it or a link to it. I'm also gonna need a massive amount of reeds to make all these books, does anyone know of some effective ways of mass farming reeds?
And for the record, the only mod or whatever that I am using in the making of this project is the book mod I linked to in the OP. All work is done on normal, and skellies spawning inside the library is a serious pain.

I have an awesome idea to contribute to this, I hope I can receive credit for this because I'm not sure its ever been suggested although I wouldn't be surprised.
You should be able to take the Squid Ink and craft it with a Feather, then you have a Pen and combine that with a book and you can write whatever you want in them, then you combine the book with a bookshelf and it puts that book into it, that way each bookshelf contains one book to read, like in the old games.(Pokemon!"

These first two are from opposite sides of the first floor interior.
This next one is of the second floor. The strange wooden structures there are staircases that will lead to the third floor.
The last one here is a shot of the interior of the bottom dome. Rather empty at the moment, I'm not sure exactly what to do with all this space...
I have not included any shots of the exterior because one floor didn't really change it all that much.
