A lot of players build their regular things in Minecraft and then get to a point where they don't know what to build. This generator is to spark some inspiration in players' minds to help them overcome that obstacle.

This thread is for discussing the generator, showing your builds from the generator, asking for help on a certain build the generator gave you, helping others on how to build something the generator gave them, or just really anything related to the generator.

Update (3/5/17): The random build generator that was originally used for this thread has been replaced. The owner of that website has been contacted. In the mean time, here are 2 other generators:

Update(3/6/17): The old generator is back after a chat with the owner. The other 2 generators linked here can stay in case players need extra ideas.

I do too most of the time, but there is always a time in my world where I feel like I need something completely random. Like a Royal Torture Chamber :). I would not have ever thought of that myself haha.

I feel like there is not space for cute things to build in minecraft in my own world. I feel like only making farms till there are new ones to make, no matter how expensive they are. I don't like building useless stuff you know? Instead... why not making an auto potion brewer? Or an iron farm? Or a sugar cane farm? Or a witch farm? Not that I don't make my builds look decent, but making "a colorful hut" just for the fun of it... meh not a fan. Still a great generator for people who like to build those things though. Nice job

I can see where you're coming from. I used to be like that. I hated building anything useless. It seemed like a waste of time and resources. The only things I cared for were things that would help me in survival. Things like all automated farms and xp grinders.

Then I joined this server where we were close friends with each other. I didn't know them IRL, but they were like my Minecraft neighbor. Eventually we all ended up building our own houses, and mine sucked the most out of all of them. This got me wondering how badly I suck at one of the most important aspects of Minecraft.

Then to get better, I started looking around at the snapshot subforum, looking up guides on how to build better, and just doing whatever. Eventually my views changed and I started to get a better feel for aesthetic building. This made me actually want to build huge towns and cities and just random structures in my world. There were players who had survival worlds that looked AMAZING with all of the structures they had. And none of them were the huge farms that I would have build before. This is the thing that truly inspired me. From then on, my goal was to make a survival world that I would never delete and it would be the best world I ever had with structures almost everywhere. Then some years later I would come back and explore my builds and feel all good inside:D

This generator is going to help so much with that!

I see your point. I might start to build something that's more cool than useful. I've grown up in the minecraft community with technical stuff in mind, only thinking about how cool it would have been to make a 10 layers mob spawner. I was playing in a SMP server some months ago, and man, I swear... there was not even a single build in my base with 4 walls. Only flattened out areas with farms and farms and farms.

I see people building windmills, bio-spheres, huge skyscrapers and I just can't recreate what they do.

Definitely gonna try building something original and creative. Thanks, you inspired me.

You won't be truly inspired until you actually try to build something like this for the first time, and see that it's nothing compared to the things other make. Then after that when you look at some structure on the forums or in the actual game and compare it to yours, that is when you will be truly inspired!

I think the hardest part is usually always trying to make things right. But that is usually the most fun part too...at least for me. Getting resources isn't that hard unless you're trying to get things like hardened clay or bricks.
