I've been playing minecraft ever since August of 2010 and ever since the biome update, I seriously miss the old grass texture. As much as I love the biomes, I think there should be at least one biome that has the grass that minecraft use to have. I'm sure I could just change my texture to that but then I would miss out on the new types of grassy regions that Minecraft generates
Does anyone have this type of nostalgia for the old Minecraft (doesn't have to be grass, just anything that you miss)?
I miss everything about pre-halloween. Winter mode was the best thing ever and the old look of the world was just so much livelier. It really saddens me that my first world got eaten by my hard drive dieing, keeping me from ever going back. I had that world for four months. From my first time playing until I had to reformat in late November. Come to think of it I haven't enjoyed the game as much since then... Sometimes I wish I could go back to when I first heard about minecraftl; the innocence of your first night is just something you can never recapture.

It activates a timer in Notch's office. If he doesn't update Minecraft in 1 hour, rocket turrets blast his office building to bits.

This might sound completely stupid but I actually had more fun when I did not know everything about minecraft and still feared most of the mobs (mainly spiders). That naivety is something that only one can reminisce upon

I loved the very first time playing the game. I was so entranced by this new magical world. My nostalgia that I wish was back is the wellbeing of my very first server. Me and several of my friends from my high school had a nice server going on, but the friend who ran it ended up leaving for college. It hasn't been the same since because he hasn't had the time to keep it up. =(
There's not much about Minecraft I really miss. Well, feature-wise anyway.
The one thing I miss... Is the mystery. The awe of my first world, the great unknown expanse surrounding me. That's one thing I've loved about Zelda games, Wind Waker in particular. At the beginning, every little nuance is amazing to you, practically begging you to simply explore every nook and cranny of this vast, unfamiliar land. Once that's gone, it's hard to get that back.
Familiarity kills Minecraft's atmosphere, to me, as it does to any adventure or sandbox game. Once you get a rhythm going, there are few surprises anymore, and that feeling of awe and wonder vanishes...
