So, I saw a thread a while ago about what minecraft would be like without wood. People started talking about getting to the nether without wood. So, I've decided to start a "woodless run"
This is that run.
Day 1:
Found many mushrooms, went underground, built a house near lava for light, saw diamonds.
Day 2: Went to the surface, found a dungeon (Lucky me :biggrin.gif:), Made a roof on it, added stairs, made two flint & steels.
Day 3: Collected some pork and yellow wool. Made a fake painting out of yellow wool.
Day 4: Took my chests and left, found weird water, found lava pool.
Day 5: Woke up to a hiss, took a few damage. Found another lava pool, and some squids.
Day 6: Died once, found another dungeon, 3 buckets, 3 iron, killed by spider jockey a few seconds before day.

Day 4:
Day 5:
Rules:
No wood.
No tools.
No hacks.
No crafting table.
Must try to find dungeons/get to nether.
How can you get to the nether with a pick axe to mine the obsidian needed with?
Using a bucket found in a dungeon you can place lava and water springs to make obsidian, all you then need is a flint and tinder, obtaining the iron from a dungeon, light it and presto.
you don't actualy need a bucket or a pickaxe, just a rather deep lava pool (5 deep at least), and then clear the lava around it with dirt or something, and get some water down from the surface
Yes, good idea. On my other thread it was getting a bit off topic of the main core thread (Or something like that) anways, it is all possible. the only hard part will be creating the portal with obsidian... omg.

First, you find a dungeon. Get inside and open the chests. If you are lucky, you will find iron or a bucket. If not, find another one.
Edit: Double ninja'd.
Dungeons can contain iron blocks and buckets. Thus allowing you to forge obsidian into a door shape.
Two iron ingots, actually :biggrin.gif:.
Now to get back to the adventure :biggrin.gif:
Lava lights.
On the other hand, going without wood completely seems insane.

Completely insane?
Thank you :biggrin.gif:
Just finished day four, found lava. More detail in the OP.
I only have the fraps demo. I tried hypercam, but it lags like crazy.
I am pretty sure than most of you alredy know, but you can use those FLINT & STEEL to fight the mobs :biggrin.gif:
(I mean, you only need 1 sole use of one of those to make a portal work, anyways)
I'd rather not. Besides, after I get some netherack from the nether, I'll need those flint and steel to use as lighting.
Think of each use as a torch.
But... Once you get to the Nether, you win this challenge, right? or you plan to live like this for how many days?
