I thought milk was infinite and that you just had to find the right spot on the cow to click (I actually aim for the udder)... but i seem to get 'dry' cows from my animal farm (mob spawner). I've tried what the wiki said about being one block below.. but it seems unpredicatable as to when I can milk a cow or not... (and I don't just mean low drop from successive clicks, I mean some cows have milk, some don't and I can't tell if I can onyl get X number of milk buckets from each cow, or if it's infinite).

It's kinda difficult, considering the fact that right-click is the same for "Get Milk" as for "Drink Milk", so it's best to milk cows at full health. Cheers,

Drink milk? You can do that...?
Anyway, cows do not have infinite milk. About 3 buckets, if memory serves.
I'm pretty sure it's random whether or not you'll get milk with each click. Some cows I'll get 3 buckets from without fail, others I'll have to click on several times.
Either way they all die. All of them. Every last animal will die and there is nothing anybody can do about it. We are all helpless to stop time's eternal flow from taking our minds and bodies and crushing them into the pitiful dust we were born from. Our families and acquaintances gather in fear, finding false shelter in large groups whom they are comfortable with. Their pathetic mistakes for safety are meaningless and do nothing to stop the burning winds of time.
But that's beside the point

I heard spades and pickaxes speed up destroying blocks, not sure if it's true though :/

Wow, I feel like giving you something. A cake maybe

I'm pretty sure you can't drink milk.
Also, I am positive that you can still eat food in your hand even at full health...

Przerwap, upon looking at some code I had just written: "...Gav... That's not how programming works."
I wouldn't say it's -hard- to milk cows in SMP, more "blood pressure-spikingly impossible" until you get the hang of it. Mostly because the commands for "get milk" and "pour milk onto floor" are the same button, so an instant of lag means you watch your bucket fill and then immediately empty.
The trick is definitely to find the right distance, which I've found to be the maximum distance you can use the bucket on a cow. Clicking anywhere on the cow will work; you don't need to target the udder or try to get underneath it. So just approach the cow, slowly and carefully clicking until you see the bucket animation on your hand.

So your saying it works something like a button? they dont work when your very close to them
I'm pretty sure you can't drink milk.

I never knew that you couldn't push a button from too close... maybe I shouldn't have replaced the one at the door to my base with a pair of levers...
When people ask you to have an open mind, they are actually telling you to "stop believing what you believe," and to "start believing what I believe."
History never repeats itself. Events never happen twice.
