Guys, I just thought of something. Why don't we find 'haunted' chunks and make a trap-cave with only one entrance. Ghost tries to haunt us. We follow it. Ghost tries to move deeper to evade us. Ghost is cornered.
Or we can just go with ghostbusters.

Things I wish I could do: Undo everything I ever did on the internet before the year... I dunno... 2013
"Although very rare, a slime can spawn in the upper layers of a snow biome"- Minecraft wiki.
Maybe the green thing was a small slime. Maybe it disappeared because it fell of an edge and since small slimes only have half a heart of life it died.
The Fist Part "Although very rare, a slime can spawn in the upper layers of a snow biome"- Minecraft wiki. is not proven, It need citation. My second piece of evidence is the slime code.
Remember, very little of the way Minecraft files work were NOT the choice of Notch.
Meaning, he isn't confined to sound in sound, textures in image form. Just how he normally does it.
A class for something almost uninteractive might also have The Invisible buried in it, where nobody would look. And if he needed a texture, maybe the code dictates the color of each pixel specifically.
I still go with the textureless theory.
Also, if this is all incorrect, I should find a skilled modder to make a The Invisible mod.

Anyway, the problem with finding this in the code is that (I have only recently started learning Java, so I don't know too much) you can hide ANY bit of code in ANY class file and refer to it in ANY other class file, so if this is real, it could be hidden completely in pretty much any file. The things that would be harder to hide would be the sound and texture files, although they can be borrowed from something that already exists.
(Random speculation based on my limited knowledge of Java incoming.)
Is it possible to have a .class refer to an external link, say hidden anywhere on the internet? If so, then the sound and/or texture, hell even a whole .class, could be hidden anywhere on the internet, and just be referenced in minecraft.jar!
Anyway it would take an entire search of the classes to find it, and even if we did we might not even realize what we have found.
It does seem to be the last option. I'll message a few skilled modders and see what they can locate in the .class files, just to find ut if there are any secrets. Meanwhile, yeah, could somebody contact Notch or other Mojang employees?

Meaning that a slime has to have a Y position less than level 16, making it impossible to have a slime spawn above it.
You Got Proven Wrong

@The chain of picsoritdidn't****inghappenyouoverimaginativeretards post quoting, I should remind you that:
A. you're using probably the most annoying way to say that the other person is automatically a liar.
B. There is a video, and a number of people with identical encounters.

That is the green bobbing.
Brilliant work, nabbing it in flat terrain.

That's a big thing thar.
Also, yeah, here is where the blob is in Cole's picture.
Looks almost like a slime, but there is NOTHING that a slime would be doing there, and it was gone when he got there.
Also, I saw a lot of these near my fortress, so I have my doubts that that many would be spawning topside.
