Ok I have been playing around on my smp survival server with a couple friends and I think I may have made a new kind of mob trap. I'm gonna post a video soon showing it and if I get enough feed back I may make a tutorial. A rough sketch up of it would be like this.

Where = Water flow = wall sign = Drain hole and
And its just I haven't seen one done like this I'm not claiming I'm the first to do this just haven't seen someone else with one like this. Plus it collects 100% of drops.

Ok let me try to explain how it works.
1.The mobs walk around and jump into the water trap.
2. The water pushes them under the blocks.
3. mobs try to swim up so they are trapped under blocks.
4. mobs die and drop loot.
5. Loot falls through signs into drainage pit.
6. Loot flows down the hole to collection pit.
7. Collect loot and repeat

What am I missing? what do you mean by missing my sentence? Sorry if my grammar is terrible my school and high school sucked and I never really learned all the proper sentence structure and all but I will be headed to Collage soon I suppose and I guess I will be taking some remedial English...
Wow I sound stupid but really the teachers didn't teach any of that all we did was vocab sheets and book work so yeah fail school system.

From what I understand mobs spawn in/on water, so placing a source block directly below the spawner should push the mobs to the edge where they will fall down and enter the trap faster.
Nice trap, I will be sure to try it when I find a zombie/skeleton dungeon next. Now we just have to work out if this can kill pesky spiders too.
Its a drowning trap, not a new concept. I haven't seen that exact design before but it can't really be considered a new type of trap. Nice job though. In my opinion drowning traps are a little slow and tend to get clogged by .
